At about 1 a.m. local time on the 23rd, an explosion occurred near the TV Center building in the center of Donetsk, eastern Ukraine, and the windows of the building were shattered, and the local emergency department has rushed to the scene. According to witnesses, the explosives were homemade and had greater energy, and exploded deep pits on the ground. At present, the relevant departments are investigating and collecting evidence on the explosion.
Sergei Belyrianich, head of the Donetsk PRT television station (Pervyi Respulikanskoe Televidenie), said the blast was some sort of psychological deterrent and fortunately no one was injured.
Daniel Bessonov, head of the local information department in Donetsk, said the bombs were most likely homemade, without offensive devices, but in number. He believes that the bombing is a warning to journalists that there may be terrorist acts against journalists next time.
