Cemvita launches the Golden Hydrogen (Hydrogen Metal) program
Cemvita Factory announced that it has launched the Golden Hydrogen (Hydrogen Metal) program, describing the program as a coalition of organizations seeking to support scaling up clean energy.
The program was founded by Cemvita Factory and Chart Industries, Inc, with other collaborators including EXP and the Houston Future Center, which is a nonprofit organization. According to Cemvita, through the program, member companies collaborate to produce gold hydrogen in a clean, efficient and scaled manner to meet growing global demand. The company said the cap on participation in the group was ten.
Cemvita describes gold hydrogen as an unparalleled resource that, so far, has been expensive to extract and cannot be produced commercially. However, the company notes that that situation will change as the company pioneers the introduction of new underground biomanufacturing technologies.
Cemvita website outlines that carbon-neutral gold hydrogen is produced from pre-prepared, clogged or abandoned depleted reservoirs and extends the life of wells that would otherwise become a "significant burden." It is said that this resource may revitalize and repair thousands of depleted and abandoned oil and gas reservoirs across the United States.
Moji Karimi, CEO of the Cemvita plant, said in a company statement: "Gold hydrogen offers a valuable opportunity for innovative companies looking to lead the energy transition rather than follow suit. ”
In the statement, Karimi added: "Especially traditional oil and gas companies with existing assets and infrastructure, skilled workforce and a global footprint. ”
Zach Broussard, head of petroleum microbiology at Cemvita and project manager for gold hydrogen, said: "The potential of reservoir microbiology is extraordinary in terms of the commitment to release gold hydrogen in a clean and efficient way".
Brusart added: "With this initiative, we look forward to working with companies that value truly disruptive innovation and are committed to pioneering the clean energy transition, not just on paper." ”

Last month, Cemvita announced the opening of a branch in Denver. The company posted a statement on its website at the time saying the office team consisted of a scientist, engineer and innovator who would focus on developing sustainable mining using microbial solutions.
Last October, the company announced the completion of its Series A funding round and added several "well-known" new investors. Cemvita said in a company statement at the time that as of October 2021, the company's total financing was just over $10 million.
Cemvita also has factories in Texas and Colorado, founded by the Karimi brothers Moji and Tara. According to its website, the company's mission is to address climate change through carbon-negative solutions for the economy, leading to positive climate change.
