Analysis of the causes of the accident: The vehicle driven by the driver Teng Mou violated the provisions of the second item of Article 43 of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China: "For motor vehicles traveling in the same lane, the rear car shall maintain a safe distance sufficient for emergency braking measures with the front car." In any of the following circumstances, it is not allowed to overtake: (2) it is possible to meet with the opposite car; and Article 47 of the Implementing Regulations of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China stipulates: "When a motor vehicle overtakes, it shall turn on the left turn signal in advance, change the use of long or low beam lights or honking horns." On a road without a road centerline or with only 1 lane in the same direction, when the front car encounters the rear car issuing an overtaking signal, if conditions permit, the speed should be reduced and the right side should be given way. The rear car shall, after confirming that there is sufficient safety distance, overtake the left side of the front car, and after pulling away from the vehicle being overtaken, turn on the right turn signal and drive back to the original lane".
