In order to further do a good job in the protection, inheritance and dissemination and promotion of endangered drama species, so that Hongshan opera can enter the countryside and be delivered to the doorstep of the people, on the afternoon of October 20, the 2021 Chuzhou Endangered Drama Hongshan Opera Public Welfare Performance Activity sponsored by the Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and undertaken by the Lai'an County Cultural and Tourism Bureau entered Changshan Village and Guo Yin Village in Zhangshan Town. The actors from Lai'an County Yongyang Hongshan Opera Art Troupe used melodious singing voices and unique performance forms to bring the audience classic songs such as "Tears Sprinkled with Love" to the audience.

Hongshan opera is one of the 348 opera genres in the country, and is a unique local opera drama in our city, which is now circulated in Lai'an and Tianchang areas. The drama genre is rough and simple, high-pitched and bright, originating from the puppet opera of the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, which has a history of more than 300 years, and is one of the earliest revolutionary dramas and modern dramas in the local dramas in the country. In 2006, it was listed as an item on the provincial intangible cultural heritage list. At present, only the lai'an county private art academy group undertakes singing and inheritance, and is included in the "List of Protecting and Supporting Endangered Drama Species" by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

According to reports, the activity will continue until the first half of 2022, and will carry out 100 public welfare performances of hongshan opera traditional classic plays for the grass-roots people in the city, which will play a positive role in promoting the effective protection and inheritance of local endangered dramas and improving the living and development environment of the grass-roots people while enriching the spiritual and cultural life of the grass-roots people.
