When the car reached the road near Zhongtian Square, Zhang Zhicheng pulled out a pistol and threatened the driver to continue driving honestly.
At the same time, other accomplices threatened to rob the passengers of their belongings with guns or knives.
One of the New Zealand passengers refused to cooperate, and Tan Junsheng shot him, and Liu Anjiang, who was next to him, also took up a kitchen knife and slashed at his thigh.
Zhang Zhi saw that someone resisted, so he changed to look at the driver, stepped forward himself, and without saying a word, shot the passenger in the head.

Therefore, Zhang Zhicheng and his gang forced the two migrant workers who had an argument with Tan Junsheng at noon into the hut in the middle of the room, stabbed them with knives, hit them on the head with iron rods, and beat the two to death on the spot.
After the incident, the Guangzhou police rushed to the scene, and Zhang Zhicheng and others had already fled.
The police brought back several migrant workers who were also from Mayang County, Hunan Province, along with Zhang Zhicheng, for questioning, and they all said that they did not know the gangsters.
After patient persuasion and education, in the end, a migrant worker said the names of "Hua Tsai", "Wutuo" and "Qiao Hu".
One of them, Chen Wuyong, fled back to Mayang and was captured by the police in August.
After Chen Wuyong's account, the Guangzhou police initially grasped the situation and officially issued a wanted warrant in Guangdong on September 21, arresting Zhang Zhicheng and others.
Since then, Zhang Zhicheng's gang has committed crimes in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Foshan, doing whatever they want.
On July 31, 1994, Zhang Zhicheng's gang stole a huge amount of money in the financial office of Ruibao Composite Material Factory in Haizhu District, Guangzhou City, and then used hundreds of thousands of stolen funds to buy two large cars and handed them over to his accomplice Zhao Mou for operation.

After the killing, Zhang Zhicheng asked his men present to crush Zhao's body together.
On November 8 of the same year, also in Chang'an Town, two security guards discovered that Zhang Zhicheng, Teng Zhaoquan, and others were acting suspiciously, and after going forward for questioning, they took out handcuffs and prepared to detain several people.
Zhang Zhicheng and Teng Zhaoquan drew their guns at the same time and shot the vigilantes to death on the spot.
Afterwards, several gangsters returned to the rental house, quickly packed their bags, and fled.
On the evening of December 23 of the same year, Zhang Zhicheng led his brother Zhang Zhiwei, together with another accomplice carrying knives and guns, to board a 62-line double-decker bus at the Tianhe Railway Station in Guangzhou.
Shortly after the departure, the three men committed a robbery on the upper floor of the bus, and the two passengers were each stabbed for "insufficient cooperation".
A passenger surnamed Tang shouted for help outside the window and was stabbed to death by robbers several times.
After robbing more than 7,000 yuan and a big brother, Zhang Zhicheng and others came to the lower level of the bus and said that someone had robbed it and asked the driver to stop and open the door.
After the door opened, the three of them got out of the car with a big wave, stopped a minibus, and coerced the driver to drive away.
On January 21, 1995, Zhang Zhicheng, Liu Anjiang, and Teng Jiuhua, based on the information they had learned, went to the construction site of the Xinlong Building in Tianhe District, grabbed about 400,000 yuan and shot a security guard.
After hearing the gunshots, other members of the security team and some workers rushed to the scene and chased Zhang Zhicheng with sticks.
Because of his fat body, Teng Jiuhua moved slowly as he climbed over the wall, and was hit in the back with an iron rod by a security guard who chased him and fell to the ground.
Zhang Zhicheng saw that Teng Jiuhua was about to be arrested, and fearing that he would reveal the whereabouts of the gang, he actually shot at Teng Jiuhua.
Fortunately, Teng Jiuhua died and did not die, and after being shot, he was held down by security guards and taken to the hospital, where he recovered from his injuries and handed over to the police.

On October 26, Liu Anjiang and Chen Hua were arrested while selling BP machines they had acquired from the previous day's murder and robbery near West Cemetery Road in Guangzhou.
At this point, the backbone members of the gang were arrested one after another, and Zhang Zhicheng began the final crazy retaliatory crime.
On November 6, he robbed in Zhuhai District, killing one person and injuring one person;

Before, his younger brother Zhang Zhiwei was arrested, and Zhang Zhicheng risked negotiating with the public security organs, hoping that the public security organs would let his brother go.
After the negotiations broke down, he threatened to fight to the end, in retaliation for blowing up the most prosperous airports and railway stations.
Zhang Jingsui seized on the breakthrough point of Zhang Zhiwei's feelings for his brother and persuaded Zhang Zhicheng to say:
"Whether you want to save your brother or help your brother, you must take responsibility for what you have done to yourself." On December 24, 1996, the Guangzhou Intermediate People's Court sentenced Zhang Zhicheng and nine others to death.
When he heard the verdict, perhaps because of his heartache for his brother, or perhaps because he was stimulated to survive at the last moment, Zhang Zhicheng's eyes in the defendant's seat showed a fierce look, obviously unacceptable to the outcome of the trial.
After the first-instance judgment, Zhang Zhicheng and others were not satisfied and appealed to the Guangdong Provincial High People's Court.
However, the heinous facts of sin can never be appeased by law.
On January 10, 1997, the Guangdong Provincial Higher People's Court sentenced Zhang Zhicheng and nine others to death in the second instance, and executed them by firing squad on the same day.
