Kathleen Speranza is a painter from Massachusetts, USA. She earned her bachelor's degree from Boston University and her master's degree in fine arts from Yale University. Her academic career spanned more than 30 years, teaching painting and drawing at universities. She has been teaching at the Rhode Island School of Design for the past few years. Speranza now hosts painting seminars nationally and internationally. She lives and works with her husband, Parker Heath, in Lynn, Massachusetts.

Her paintings have always explored the visual language of space, light, color, and form as it relates to specific themes in nature. Her paintings are a constant investigation into the poetic potential of plant life. The works associated with garden roses, whose extremely subtle colors and structures are probably her most famous paintings. Catherine has exhibited her work in group and solo exhibitions in the United States and the United Kingdom, and her work can be found in many private and public collections.
