Shu Ran is a member of the Chinese Poetry Society, the Southeast Asian Poets PEN Association, the Canadian Overseas Writers Association, the Singapore Art Federation, the Singapore Arts Association, the Singapore International Arts Federation, the Singapore Collectors Association, the Chinese Art Research Association, and the Singapore Business China Invited Member.
In May 2016, Shu Ran published his first collection of poems, "Poetry as an Inscription", with the cover of the ink treasure inscribed by Mr. Shi Molov. Contemporary poetry critic and judge of the Lu Xun Literature Prize, Professor Lu Jin, and Singaporean literary historian and poet Professor Tan Jian wrote the preface to his poetry collection. Sponsored by the National Arts Council of Singapore and the Lee Foundation, the collection of poems is distributed throughout the island and is listed in the collections of 25 libraries, including the National Library of Singapore, and by the Panyu Library of Guangdong. "Poetry as a Memory" held a grand book launch at the National Library of Singapore, attended by more than 200 guests and 35 clubs. All proceeds from the charity sale were donated to Singapore Sian Chay Medical Institution on the same day.
