Welsh star Ryan Day managed to qualify for the Welsh Open after beating Chinese player Chang Bingyu.
Ryan Day won 4-2 against Chinese rising star Chang Bingyu in the snooker Welsh Open qualifiers, so he managed to qualify for the Welsh Open main tournament on home soil, and so far the local players who have successfully entered the Welsh Open include Ryan Day, Matthew Stevens, Jak Jones, Jamie Clarke and Andrew Pagett.
"Captain" Ali Carter also passed the level, he beat Lei Peifan, and last year's Welsh Open Carter performed well, he reached the quarterfinals, but then withdrew due to injury to miss the next game.
The only Chinese player to stand out in the qualifiers was Yuan Sijun, who won 4-0 against Fraser Patrick, while Graeme Dott narrowly won 4-3, with the main tournament set to take place from February 28 to March 6 after the qualifying round.
