In 2007, Sui Wenjing and Han Cong were selected by the then famous figure skating coach Luan Bo to start their two-person skating career. When the two were first combined, they were not optimistic because of their short stature, and many people questioned it, and Han Cong recalled, "I have been practicing so desperately, and I did not let go of every minute."
