Equipped with a powerful powertrain and advanced chassis technology, the new car creates a passionate driving experience for users. The new BMW M8 is equipped with M's exclusive 4.4-litre V8 twin-turbo engine, which unleashes up to 600 hp (625 hp for the Thunder edition) and 750 Nm of peak torque. At the same time, the 8-speed sporty hand-operated automatic transmission with shift logic and the new M xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive system ensure that powerful engine kinetic energy is efficiently transmitted to the wheels. A variety of powertrain components are precisely coordinated to create extraordinary handling. The 100-kilometer acceleration is 3.3 seconds, and the Thunder version can reach 3.2 seconds, which is comparable to the top supercar.
In terms of chassis technology, the new BMW M8 makes full use of BMW M's technical reserves in racing development, and also absorbs the experience of developing the top racing BMW M8 GTE, and individually adjusts for each model, ensuring that the new car organically combines excellent driving dynamics, agility and precision. The chassis technology of the new BMW M8 models combines electronically controlled shock absorbers and M electronic servo power steering with an integrated braking system that provides two pedal feel settings, allowing the driver to opt for a more comfortable or more direct motion response. Users can optionally install M carbon ceramic high-performance calipers. The Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system provides the driver with M-dynamic mode, allowing for a greater degree of wheel slippage. This, combined with the M xDrive's intelligent all-wheel drive system,' re-weighted rear-wheel drive allows drivers to experience the ultimate in racing-like handling, such as controlled cornering drift.

The new car comes standard with smart laser headlights with adaptive corner illumination and dynamic beam anti-glare automatic control to ensure optimal visibility in all weather conditions and driving conditions. The new BMW M8 is also available with a personalized black headlight trim strip, which is the first time this configuration has been applied to luxury high-performance models. Dark inlays and chrome detailing within the headlights make the front face of the car very recognizable and sporty, and black highlighter strips are standard around the double kidney grille, further enhancing the visual expression.

Two different settings are supported for permanent storage, which can be selected via two M buttons on the steering wheel.
