Therefore, contentment is always sufficient.
When one is gratified with self-contentment,true contentment will long endure.
The contentment mentioned in the Tao Te Ching and the contentment of the popular world mean completely different things. It means that one must not depart from the Dao, so that he can understand and understand that only the Tao is complete, sufficient, and permanent. The things under heaven are, however, the derivatives of the Tao, and they are all fine, incomplete, incomplete, and not long-lasting. The principle of governing the world must not be used as a basis or law by the truth derived from these trivial artifacts.
To be able to appreciate the path of access is to be content. To act in a vain manner, and to act in a vain way, is to be dissatisfied. Knowing the fullness of the Tao and being able to hold on to the Tao is the foot of contentment. If you can be content, then there will always be a way under the heavens. Only the feet are always enough, and the world can always be correct.
"Contentment" means to be able to appreciate the Dao and know the fullness of the Dao; "Contentedness" is to know the fullness of the Dao and insist on following the Tao. If a person cannot appreciate the dao, act arbitrarily, and take such behavior as the norm, it is "not satisfied."
"Always enough" means that if everyone can achieve "contentment," then the world will be filled with the Tao. In this way, whether it is the king or the people, they can also have the virtue of the Tao, then the world will also be stable and peaceful.
The meaning of "contentment is always sufficient" can be understood as follows: Only those who are satisfied with contentment can attain eternal satisfaction. Lao Tzu's phrase "contentment" means that one should always follow the path. In this way, people can feel and understand for a long time that the Tao is the most complete, eternal, and normal existence in the world.
The extroversion of desire determines that our greed for external things can only be a bottomless pit. If we get caught up in it, the cost will be immeasurable. Therefore, we must learn our lessons and be free from greed.
Speaking of which, how can we get rid of greed? This requires the virtue of the Avenue. The virtue of the Avenue is to have no desire and no desire. As long as we can follow the path, conform to the virtues of the path, and achieve no desire and no dispute, we will feel the happiness of life, and happiness is the best reward for us to be content. Lao Tzu put forward the concept of "contentment is enough, always enough", which is to tell people to be content, because only in this way can we maintain permanent satisfaction.
