In 1944, as world war II was at its final stages, and while the participating countries were still fighting with the most advanced weapons and elaborate strategies, a barbaric "war" that could only occur in primitive societies was staged on a small island.
War has spilled over and the island has become increasingly desolate
The small island where the story takes place is called Anantahan Island and is located in the Northern Maria Islands. In 1944, at the age of 24, Kazuko Higa came to work on the island with her husband, Masaichi Higa. When they first arrived on the island, there were dozens of aborigines and Shoichi Higa's colleagues, and everyone got along quite happily, at least compared to other war-torn places, Anantahan Island was already a quiet and peaceful place to live.
Soon after, Higa left home to pick up his sister, but at the same time, Japan was losing ground in the Pacific and the area around Anantahan Island was affected by the war. The islanders moved away from the island in order to take refuge, and Masaichi Higa, who had already left the island, was never heard from again, and the once-pyrotechnic island quickly became desolate.
However, no matter how the war situation changed, Kazuko Higa never left the island, and she stayed with her husband Masaichi Higa's boss, Masami Hinata.
In fact, as early as when Shoichi Higa had not yet left the island, there was already an ambiguity between Kazuko and Masami Hinata, but Higashita was Shoichi Higa's superior, so Shoichi, who knew that the two had an affair, had to swallow his anger. After Masaichi disappeared one by one, Kazuko and Hinata became more and more arrogant, and soon walked together in a bright and honest manner.
The island welcomes uninvited guests, and Higa and Kazuko's fate begins to change
On June 12, 1944, three Japanese military ships were attacked, and the 10 soldiers and 21 crew members on board desperately escaped and finally landed on Anatahan Island, where Kazuko Higa and Masami Hinoshita were located.
Seeing that the people were Japanese compatriots, Kazuko and Hinoshita enthusiastically took them in and provided them with food and clothing free of charge. The 31 people on the island are also very grateful to the two, and the 33 people at this time are still getting along quite well, and no one can imagine that in the near future, their relationship will change from 33 compatriots to "32 men and 1 woman".
In 1945, Japan announced its unconditional surrender, and the news spread to various places, and some of the remaining indigenous people on the island heard about it and left with the American troops who came to report the news. But Hinoshita and others did not believe that Japan would be defeated, and no one was willing to leave, and they firmly believed that the motherland would send someone to take them back.
At this point, only these 33 people remained on Anatahan Island who still insisted on living an isolated life here.
After 33 people were at peace for a while, two guns changed the situation on the island
During the initial period of living together, the relationship between the 33 people was relatively harmonious. The soldiers on the island always believed that the war was not over, so they practiced day by day, waiting for the day to return to the battlefield; and Hinoshita and Kazuko had been on the island for a long time, relying on the accumulation of supplies in the past, their lives were quite moist.
In addition, Anatahan Island has abundant natural resources, fruits and seafood for people to pick and catch, coupled with the agricultural tools and living tools left by the indigenous people, people do not worry about survival. However, it may be because life on the island is too smooth and boring, so it is not long before the mentality of these people begins to gradually change.
The oldest of the 31 men who accidentally landed on the island was only in their thirties, the youngest was only sixteen years old, and most of the others were young men in their twenties. At the same time, there was only one woman on the island, still a young and beautiful young woman, and for the men, Wakako became a goddess-like being.

Soon, the opportunity arose. In August 1945, Kazuko and Hinata inadvertently spotted a bomber on the island that had previously crashed down here, and soon others arrived, excitedly dividing up the food and tools available on the plane.
In addition to daily necessities, there are actually some weapons on the plane that have been damaged, but everyone does not take it too seriously, one is that things are broken, and the other is that the island is far away from the battlefield, and they can't use weapons. However, while everyone was immersed in the excitement of finding something new, two people secretly put away the guns and bullets found on the plane behind their backs.
The two men, named Matsuo and Nakata, were originally good gunmen who assembled guns, and he easily repaired the damaged guns, and then shared a gun with Nakata. With the advent of these two guns, a "war" that destroyed humanity also officially began.
Gunfire broke out, and the island became another "battlefield"
After receiving the gun, Matsuo and Nakata immediately thought of occupying the island's most valuable "property", and they approached Kazuko and Hinata and demanded that Hinata give up Kazuko's "ownership". Forced by the threat of weapons in their hands, the couple had to obey, so Kazuko became the "possessions" of Hinoshita, Matsuo, and Nakata at the same time.
The news soon fell into the ears of the rest of the island, who did not feel that there was anything wrong with Matsuo and Nakata's forcible occupation of their wives, but were dissatisfied with the fact that the three of them had exclusively enjoyed Kazuko, but they could not share a piece of the pie.
The change in Kazuko's affiliation completely shattered the island's seemingly undefined calm, and the men began to fight wildly over the only woman on the island. It's just that under the threat of guns from Matsuo and others, everyone is temporarily powerless.
Not long after, a man on the island died unexpectedly, and the only people who were at the scene of the crime were Matsuo and Tanaka. Everyone believed in their hearts that the man was actually shot by two people, and they did not dare to act rashly, for fear that improper words and deeds would lead to the disaster of killing themselves.
By the fall of 1947, the situation was broken again. Matsuo and Nakata both quarreled, both wanted to monopolize Kazuko, and after a fight, Matsuo was killed, and Nakata became the "absolute master" armed with two guns. Three months later, his body was found by the sea, and the guns and women who had been owned for him were once again ushered in by a new owner.
After another six months, Hinoshita died suddenly, and the only people who witnessed his death were Kazuko and Iwai, who inherited two pistols. Next, Iwai was unable to escape the "curse", he was "drowned" by the sea, and even the body was mysteriously missing.
In this way, since the advent of the gun, the bloody case on the island has never been broken, there are fewer and fewer men, and Kazuko is constantly being transferred. In the face of all this, Kazuko has no right to speak at all, and she can only silently accept the "new master" one after another.
Seeing that there were fewer and fewer former companions, the men on the island realized that they could not let the situation continue to develop. After a resolution, they decided to destroy the root cause of all violence and killing — two guns. Under the supervision of everyone, guns are thrown into the sea, and Kazuko is asked to choose a man to be with her, and the others are not allowed to deliberately sabotage, and life on the island seems to have returned to calm.
The man negotiates to kill Kazuko to stop the war, and Kazuko asks for help from an American ship to escape successfully
However, the war and killing did not stop there, and Kazuko's new lover and several men on the island disappeared or died due to various "accidents". The men suddenly woke up to the fact that the root cause of the war was actually the only woman on the island! So they conspired to kill Kazuko and bring true peace back to Anatahan Island.
A well-meaning veteran secretly informs Kazuko about this, and Kazuko flees into the mountains and forests of the island in a panic, but accidentally gains a chance to survive. An American ship happened to pass nearby, and Kazuko desperately called for help and managed to get on board, escaping the cage where she had been imprisoned for several years.
After Kazuko fled, news of survivors on the island was brought back to Japan, and the survivors' relatives were sent to the island through the U.S. military. After seeing the letter from their relatives, these men were finally willing to believe the fact that Japan had been defeated, and left Anatahan Island with the American troops. The "Queen of Anantahan Island Incident" has come to an end.
