Handprints are various postures knotted between hands and fingers, and are the carriers for transmitting information, and The Dunhuang murals in China present a rich and unique form of handprints. As early as 2010, during his doctoral studies, Liu Yan pioneered the study of hand dance under the guidance of his mentor Feng Shuangbai, and at that time, even in the international dance community, he could not find a special research monograph. "Although I can't stand, I can use my hands as wings and 'fly' back to the stage." Liu Yan said. In 2008, after an accidental injury in the rehearsal of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, all the spectators thought that Liu Yan would say goodbye to the stage forever, but she regained her strength and returned to the dance world again. "This may be the power of the original heart." From phD to postdoctoral exit, from actor to professor and director, Liu Yan firmly believes that the body is not an obstacle to dance, and she will continue to stick to it in her own way.
