Sharon Stone revealed details of the infamous white dress she wore in "Instinct".
The actress revealed in a stylish article that she was part of the film's wardrobe curator, and she carefully selected the numbers she wore for a scene in the 1992 film in which she sat cross-legged on a couch smoking a cigarette.
"Costume designer Ellen Mirojnick took me to Rodeo Drive and said, 'You can pick whatever you want for your character,'" Stone wrote in the latest issue of the magazine.
Stone, who plays catherine Tramell, insists in the film that she stopped at Hermès and pulled on a palatial off-white dress, including a cashmere sweater.

She said she then approached film director Paul Verhoeven and asked her how she should keep her hair, and he basically left it to Stone.
"He joked, 'I don't care if you wear a turtleneck sweater with your hair curled up in a bun.'" So I said, 'Fine, because that's how I thought,'" the star recalled.
"We decided to opt for all white because my character had a very Hitchcockian vibe," Stone recalls. "But Alan designed the dress so that I could sit like a man when he was being interrogated. It allowed me to move my arms and legs, take up space and control a room full of men. ”
Even with subjective choices, Stone wrote in her article that she never imagined the ensemble would receive as much attention as it did.

"The movie is a thriller where we stop moving and watch me sit motionless in my chair, so I think there's zero chance that anyone would give it two s-ts."
Despite the film's success, Stone said she didn't make much money from the project. In fact, due to her relatively low salary, she stipulated in her contract that after the shoot was over, she would take her wardrobe out of the photo.

"I signed the contract and I could keep the clothes," she said. "People think I'm crazy, but the truth is, I'm not paid much compared to my actors. I made $500,000; Michael (Douglas) made $14 million. So keeping my costume is a very clever thing to do. "
"It was zippered in a clothing bag on set and it hasn't been opened since," she added to the 30-year-old dress.
"I broke the zipper so it sealed like a work of art or a really cool time capsule."
