In 2018, he insisted on participating in the brigade pull-up competition in 2018, and in the face of fierce competition, he still lost the gold medal. "Unwilling" was the only thought in Yang Zhengwu's mind when he walked off the field.

During a reconnaissance operation, a dangerous situation suddenly appeared, and the combat area was suddenly covered with rain... On the one hand, extreme weather and heavy rain were noted, and on the other hand, it was urgent to obtain the need to win the battle of the "enemy"'s deployment, Yang Zhengwu braved the storm and led the reconnaissance team to infiltrate the "enemy's" position five times to reconnoiter intelligence, providing important support for the follow-up combat mission.
