Film advantages:
A comedy above passing standards. Popular but not vulgar, funny but not spoof. Compared with the box office dark horse "Hello, Li Huanying" in last year's Spring Festival file, and the same comedy "This Killer Is Not Calm", it seems more pure and more advanced.
There is no deliberate sensationalism and forced value output, only one baggage after another that makes you close your mouth and a story with a high degree of completion. What is rare is that the whole film almost does not use any outdated jokes and vulgar old terriers, and many laughs are refreshing. There are two main reasons for this effect.
First, the core story of the film is quite creative. Unfortunately, the story is not original, but a remake of a Japanese film. However, the main creative team has been relatively successful in localizing this story. In some ways, it is even better than the original.
The core of this story's creativity is actually the use of identity dislocation to achieve comedic effect. But to be funny enough, it depends on the performance of the actors, which is the second reason for what comes next.
Second, the male protagonist Wei Xiang's vigorous performance. It can be said that it is precisely because Wei Xiang, who has been playing a supporting role in Happy Twist, starred in this film for the first time as the protagonist, and used his exaggerated expression and crazy action to exert the comedic effect achieved by this identity dislocation to the extreme.
Wei Xiang's performance is believed to leave an "indelible" impression on most audiences. Moreover, the character in this play is simply tailor-made for him. Even if it is changed to Shen Teng to star, it may not be able to have such an effect as it is now.
If you just want to go to the theater and have a smile, then "This Killer Is Not Too Calm" is definitely the best choice for you to watch movies this Spring Festival.
Film Cons:
The standard of the film's costume is too general, and the whole film gives people a strong sense of studio shooting. And from the final tidbits of the film, it can also be seen that this is indeed the case. This has led to a film sense that is not strong enough, but has a heavier sense of drama.
Some of the action and line design seem too much like a sketch, which is especially evident in the heroine Ma Li, which inevitably makes people a little dramatic.
