Lin Zixiang re-emerges: he is the "sweeping monk" of the Chinese music scene

Text | Hexi

His legend is circulating in the rivers and lakes:

1. Andy Lau is the worst student he has ever taught.

2. Lin Zixiang was never young, and Ye Xuanwen was never old.

3. Macau gambling king Stanley Ho hung-sin said before his death: My favorite song is Lin Zixiang's "Real Man".

4. In front of him, Jacky Cheung did not dare to be called "God of Song".

5. He is the "sweeping monk" of the Chinese music scene: Ge Yin.

……

The "song cain" that the dragon saw the beginning and did not see the end, but recently it has frequently appeared and re-emerged from the jianghu in a high profile. At the "Mid-Autumn Festival Gala in the Greater Bay Area", 74-year-old Lin Zixiang's song "Dare to Love and Dare to Do" shocked four seats, making Jackie Chan become a passionate fan, making Joey Yung sing wildly, and making many stars shake excitedly and wave glow sticks. In addition, he also participated in the recording of the third season of the singing program "Our Song" on Oriental Satellite TV. Speaking a little old-fashioned, he sang but full of spirit, not to reduce the style of that year, but also the accumulation of years, so that countless fans were surprised to look over, it is really your uncle will always be your uncle.

Lin Zixiang re-emerges: he is the "sweeping monk" of the Chinese music scene

Lin Zixiang has never been young? This is, of course, just a paragraph.

74 years ago, Lin Zixiang was of course a baby. Born on October 12, 1947 in Hong Kong, China, he attended DXN School and Boys' College in Hong Kong in his early years, and during his study at Dover College in the United Kingdom, he began to form a band, so his English was very good, and his first album "George Lam Series 1: Lam" launched in Hong Kong in 1976 was an English album.

In 1975, Lin Zixiang returned to Hong Kong to join the Jade Band, whose members included Willie, Big AL, Little AL and so on. The following year, when he released his first album, he began to grow a mustache. Although this kind of Lu Xun-like beard was very common in Asia in the first half of the 20th century, in the entertainment industry, the image of a moustache is indeed very rare. Lin Zixiang entered the music scene in such a way, which left a deep impression. Even in the 1992 album "The Most Unforgettable You", Lin Zixiang directly incarnated as the Mona Lisa, and this photo is indeed the most memorable Lin Zixiang.

Of course, Lin Zixiang is not only funny, his singing skills are highly respected in the Chinese music scene, and this unimpressive-looking man sings as if he can really make your ears pregnant. Whether it is the high-pitched "Real Man", "Boy When Self-Improvement", or the tender and gentle "Like a Dream", "A You in the Sea of People", he has pinched it just right and has become an immortal classic in the history of Chinese music.

Lin Zixiang is known as the "iron lung", in 2016, Hunan Satellite TV "I am a singer" season of the fourth season of the "Battle of the Song King" finals, Lin Zixiang and his wife Ye Xuanwen helped sing Li Keqin's "Digital Life" scene, so that Lin Zixiang, a legendary singer who gradually faded out of the singing world, once again entered the vision of ordinary audiences, this time, he exploded, and the sharp edge even overshadowed the protagonist Li Keqin, and the "sweeping monk" really received a miracle effect.

A theme song of "Huang Feihong", "Boys Should Be Self-Reliant", sang the audience's blood boiling, and probably only Lin Zixiang, who was "copper-throated iron lung", could sing the texture of Zhengzheng iron bones. Moreover, such a difficult song, Lin Zixiang only recorded for one day. At that time, Xu Ke asked Huang Xia to compose the theme song of "Huang Feihong", and Huang Xia adapted the ancient song "General Order" into "Boys Should Strengthen Themselves", and asked Lin Zixiang to sing. Coincidentally, Lin Zixiang wanted to fly to the United States the next day, and there was only one day of recording time, and at this time, the accompaniment that could be provided to Lin Zixiang was only the piano demo, and the arrangement was not done well. The producer then told him: When you sing, you should imagine that there are thousands of horses, drums, traditional instruments such as the siren and the lute.

Finally you heard this version, Lin Zixiang opened his mouth, it really seems that there are thousands of troops and horses rushing to come, and the arrangement of the song after that is perfectly coordinated, it is really amazing!

Lin Zixiang re-emerges: he is the "sweeping monk" of the Chinese music scene

As early as 1980, he won two consecutive Golden Melody Awards at the 3rd Hong Kong Top Ten Chinese Golden Melody Awards with two songs, "In the Middle of the Water" and "Minutes Need You". After that, he became a regular guest at the Golden Melody Awards ceremony of Hong Kong's top ten Chinese, and in the 80s when Tam Wing Lin and Cheung Kwok Wing competed for supremacy, Lin Zixiang's brilliance would never be hidden.

In 1994, at the 17th Radio Television Hong Kong Top 10 Chinese Golden Melody Awards, Lin Zixiang was awarded the Golden Needle Award, the highest honor in the Hong Kong music scene. This is the highest affirmation of his status in the music scene.

It was also in this year that he divorced. In 1980, when he first won the Golden Melody Award for the Top Ten Chinese in Hong Kong, he happened to marry this woman, and 14 years later, their marriage came to an end.

Her name is Wu Zhengyuan.

Wu Zhengyuan was a senior executive of Warner Records in Hong Kong, at the beginning of Lin Zixiang's career, he gave Lin Zixiang the greatest help, and praised Lin Zixiang in Warner Records, making him one of the most important male singers of Warner Records at that time, and another warner pillar was Chen Baiqiang, who became Warner's biggest weapon against PolyGram's Tan Yonglin Zhang Guorong in the 80s.

In 1980, Lin Zixiang and Wu Zhengyuan secretly married in the United States and had a son and a daughter. Wu Zhengyuan and Lin Zixiang were married to Fengzi, and in the early days of marriage, the married life was not ideal, in Wu Zhengyuan's own words: "I really got married because I had a BB, and Lin Zixiang always felt that I forced him to get married." Perhaps because of "machismo", Lin Zixiang agreed to the marriage.

Perhaps it is also fate that in this marriage, Wu Zhengyuan's biggest mistake was to find Ye Xuanwen from Taiwan. Born in Taiwan, not a Native of Hong Kong, Ye immigrated to Victoria, Canada with her family at the age of four, so she did not know how to read and write Chinese characters, and often needed to use pinyin translations Chinese and Cantonese.

In 1979, she became popular for shooting advertisements, and in the same year, he studied singing under the famous Taiwanese musician Li Taixiang, became Qi Yu's sister, and released a number of Chinese albums in Taiwan. As you have heard, it is completely Qi Yu's style.

In 1984, she moved to Hong Kong and was appreciated by Wu Zhengyuan. Because he did not know Cantonese, Wu Zhengyuan asked her husband Lin Zixiang to help Ye Xuan literature and sing in Cantonese. At first, Yip Pu-man, who could not even speak Cantonese, launched the Cantonese album "Ye Xuanwen" in her first year in Hong Kong, and was selected as one of the top ten golden songs in 1984 with the song "Zero O'Clock Ten Minutes" composed by Lin Zixiang for her. By the time "Blessings" became a hit in 1988, no one regarded her as a Taiwanese sister.

Please note, why do I write her name here as "Ye Xuanwen" instead of "Ye Qianwen"? Because there is no name Ye Qianwen at all. Ye Xuanwen is her real name! The word "蒨" is "Qian", so sometimes you will see Ye Xuanwen written as "Ye Qianwen", but this word and "Qian" are basically two words, not universal! The reason why this error occurred was because in the early years, when the mainland media reported on Ye Xuanwen, they mistakenly thought that "Qian" was a simplified character for "蒨" in order to spread false rumors, which should be corrected. Another big mistake is that "Thousand thousands of songs" was mistakenly written as "Thousand thousands of songs", the original Hong Kong version of Lin Zhenqiang's lyrics is not written like this, this pot Lin Zhenqiang does not back!

Ye Xuanwen competed with Lin Yilian for a sister in South China, and after Ye Xuanwen became popular, he cooperated very frequently with Lin Zixiang, a brother of Warner, coupled with the relationship between master and apprentice, the two had a long-term relationship, and Wu Zhengyuan was invincible to Ye Xuanwen's limelight in the middle of the day, and he was eclipsed. This love history may be the only black history in Lin Zixiang's life that has been criticized, but Lin Zixiang and Ye Xuanwen have been together for more than 20 years, and the two husbands and wives have sung with them, and they are like-minded on the road of music, which can also be said to be envious of others' immortals, and the controversy about them has gradually subsided.

In addition to Ye Xuanwen, another disciple of Lin Zixiang was also famous, that is, Andy Lau.

Andy Lau starred in his first film in his life, "Running to the Sea of Fury". Director Xu Anhua originally wanted to ask Zhou Runfa to play the male lead, but Zhou Runfa could not come, so Xu Anhua found a handsome young student who had just become popular on TVB, Andy Lau.

It just so happens that the actor who plays the second male is Lin Zixiang. During the filming, Andy Lau asked The senior Lin Zixiang of the music world to teach singing, and Lin Zixiang said to him: "You can go and sing." ”

Lin Zixiang's words were a great encouragement to Andy Lau with a big tongue. Andy Lau later said: "I am the worst student Lin Zixiang has ever taught. "It's just self-effacing. Although Andy Lau's singing skills may not be particularly strong, his efforts are difficult for others to match. In the case that his own talent is not dominant, he has become the longest popular of the four kings through the unremitting efforts of the day after tomorrow, and on September 27, he ushered in his 60th birthday, and his era has not yet passed.

Compared with Andy Lau, Lin Zixiang is much more low-key. In the mid-to-late 90s, he began to fade out of the music scene. On May 30, 2003, at the invitation of Wang Mingquan, Lin Zixiang was a guest at a concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum in Hung Hom, and accidentally fell off the stage, hitting his head to the ground, which damaged his hearing, but it was fortunate that this accident did not make him the second place in Wong Ka-koo.

The 74-year-old Lin Zixiang can still sing to everyone, which is the happiness of the audience, and I hope that he can still sing and continue to sing for the fans who love him.
