In the first quarter, Curry Jr. scored consecutive shots, Mills hit a three-pointer, and the Nets made a 13-2 start. Sabonis Jr. scored 2+1, Mills hit another three-pointer, Fox hit a mid-range shot, and Curry Jr. and Mitchell hit each other's three-pointers. Brown scored six straight points, Carter hit a three-pointer, Ader scored a 2-plus layup, and the Nets were already 18 points ahead. Di Vincenzo hit a three-pointer, Ade hooked a shot, and Johnson hit a layup. Meitu pressed a three-point shot and the Kings responded with a wave of 8-0. In the first quarter, the Nets led the Kings 35-24.
In the second quarter, Holliday scored on a layup, Mills hit a mid-range shot, Mitchell hit another three-pointer, and Curry Jr. hit a mid-range shot. Di Vincenzo and Fox hit three consecutive points, Sabonis Jr. hit a mid-range shot, Fox threw a shot, and the Kings closed the gap to four points in a 12-2 wave.
