However, in recent times, the old drama bone Lu Shuming has been unusually "active".

1. The movie God of War (1976)

The Taiwanese fantasy film "God of War", also known as "Guan Gong vs Aliens", was changed to "Hong Kong Catastrophe" when it was released in Hong Kong.
This is a Taiwanese close-up film imitating a Japanese monster movie, telling the story of Guan Gongxiansheng fighting aliens. 2. The Movie "Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Guan Gong" (1989)

The movie version of "Guan Gong" can be described as a big investment at that time, the story is very large, the cast is also strong, divided into upper and lower episodes, originally called "Guan Gong", and later in order to distinguish the TV series version, "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" was added.

3. TV series "Guan Gong" (1993)

The TV series "Guan Gong" has only 14 episodes in total, which directly intercepts the story line of Guan Gong in "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" to interpret. Starting from the Taoyuan Three Knots, to wenjiu beheading Huaxiong, beheading Yan Liang, riding alone for a thousand miles, the Battle of Chibi, the righteous interpretation of Cao Cao, the flooding of the Seventh Army, and finally the defeat of Maicheng.

Guan Yu, which the audience loves to watch, is still Guan Yu in the magnificent large story, rather than this kind of personal independent story, so the influence of this version of the TV series "Guan Gong" is also very limited.
4. TV series "The Legend of the Heroes of the Three Kingdoms" (1995)

Taiwan's Huashi "Three Kingdoms Heroes Of Guan Gong" TV series was also a big investment at the time, up to 44 episodes.
The story begins with the Yellow Turban Rebellion, according to the consistent characteristics of Taiwanese TV dramas, there are many female characters added to it, so there are many more children's private love dramas.
Actor Gou Feng plays Guan Yu, and the cast also has guan Yonghe, Gong Cien, Jia Jingwen and so on, which we are familiar with.
Sharp-eyed audiences will find that this drama is actually filmed by the team of "Bao Qingtian", although the story line originates from "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", it has been changed to piecemeal, adding a lot of wild history.
Almost every character has an emotional drama, Lu Xun and Sun Shangxiang still have a relationship, and the big scene is basically invisible, so many people feel that this is more like a martial arts drama.

5. Movie "Timeless time to love" (1998)

The story of the film has little to do with "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", but borrows some of the settings of the Characters of the Three Kingdoms.
Mainland actor Wang Weiguo played Guan Yu in the film, in fact, he also played Zhang Liao in "Romance of the Three Kingdoms"; Lu Junyi, "Jade Qilin"; and the Jade Emperor and Bai Xiangjing in "Journey to the West Sequel".
So Pi Ge was very surprised that he would appear in such a nonsense Hong Kong film, and his Guan Yu appearance is actually quite good, that is, in such a funny movie, there is no way to show Guan Yu's character characteristics.
6. TV series "Wusheng Guangong" (2004)

Therefore, this "Wusheng Guangong" is not famous, and few people have watched it.
7. TV series "Three Kingdoms" (2010)
Guan Yu played by Yu Rongguang
The 95-episode "Three Kingdoms" is a big production and the only TV series that can be compared with CCTV's "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" so far. Being able to play Guan Gong in such a large investment historical drama is undoubtedly a very honor for Yu Rongguang, and he has really done his best.
Yu Rongguang does not need to be introduced, before participating in "Three Kingdoms", he was already very famous.
In fact, Yu Rongguang also has a little advantage that others do not have, that is, he is the son of Peking Opera performance artist Yu Mingkui, who is from a Peking Opera martial arts background, and his grasp of Guan Yu's image and behavior is much better than that of actors who have not acted in Peking Opera.
Therefore, the Yu Rongguang edition is also considered to be the only version that can be compared with the Lu Shuming edition.
If there is any shortcoming in Yu Rongguang's version, it is that the overall level of "Three Kingdoms" directed by Gao Xixi is much worse than CCTV's "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", and it is not at the same level at all.
Let's go back and look at The Lu Shuming version and say that he acted well, but where is the good?

In 1994's "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", Lu Shuming's Guan Gong appearance is indeed unable to find shortcomings.

The good image, in fact, thanks to the CCTV version of "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", is still the only epic TV series that can fully display the original story of "Romance of the Three Kingdoms". Guan Gong, as an important historical figure in the play, together with other distinct characters, wrote a legend, which is the real reason why Lu Shuming's image can be immortal.
