The double snowmobile "Big God" made the finale, and Germany's fried friedrich temporarily ranked first on the first day

On the evening of February 14, the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics began the first two rounds of the men's double bobsleigh competition, and the German legend Francesco Friedrich led his partner Tolsten Maggis to perform well, with a total of 1:58.38 in two rounds, temporarily ranking first, 0.15 seconds ahead of the second-ranked German duo Johannes Lochner/Florian Bauer. In third place is the Russian Olympic team combination Rostislav Gatykovich/Alexei Laptev.

China's Sun Kaizhi / Wu Qingze played steadily, with a total of 2:00.05 in the two rounds, ranking 14th. Li Chunjian / Liu Wei, on the other hand, ranked 22nd with 2:067.

If there is an active player in the snowmobile event or even the entire slide project who can be called a "god-level" superstar, it is Friedrich. The 31-year-old German star is almost invincible in the double and four-man snowmobile space. As the helmsman of the double and four-man snowmobiles, Friedrich led his teammates to win gold medals in both events at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang. Just this past 2020-2021 season, he and his teammates competed in 16 double and quadruple snowmobile races at the IBSF International Bobsleigh and Steel Frame Snowmobile Federation World Cup races, winning an amazing 15 gold medals.

After coming to Beijing, he has always been regarded as a gold grabber. He and brakeman Margis have worked together for many years, won the first place in 6 rounds of trial skating, and found the best way to control the "Snow Dragon" in the shortest time. Sure enough, in the first round of the main race on the evening of the 14th, Friedrich and his teammates quickly pushed the snowmobile out, setting a minimum starting time of 4.95 seconds. In a series of corners, Friedrich steered the snowmobile to flash and move, finishing the race with a record of 59.02 seconds on the track, making all opponents feel the absolute strength of the "big god".

In the second round, Friedrich did not pursue too much speed, and completed the gliding in a relatively safe way, taking 59.36 seconds, ranking first in the overall result of the two rounds. His compatriot Lochner/Bauer also performed well, sliding out of 1:58.53 on two wheels, firmly in second place. Gaytyukovich/Laptev was third with a time of 1:59.32.

The third and fourth rounds of the men's double snowmobile will be staged in the "Snow Dragon" on the evening of the 15th.
