Recently, Rossana, a 67-year-old citizen of Rome, was taken to the hospital because she was unwell, but she waited on a stretcher for a full 10 hours before she could be examined. The next day, she was urgently transferred to another hospital, but was eventually pronounced dead. Today, Rossana's family has reported the incident to the gendarmes and will file a complaint to seek justice for their loved ones.
Italy RomaToday network reported that last Wednesday (2nd), Rossana suddenly felt severe stomach pain at home, around 13 o'clock she called the 118 emergency number, and was rushed to Vannini Hospital by ambulance with "code red". The "Code Red" proves that doctors knew from the beginning that Rossana's condition was very serious.

Rossana's niece then said: "My aunt was hung on a stretcher in the emergency room for a full 10 hours at Vannini Hospital, just waiting for a CT scan. During this time, she kept writhing in pain. If the doctors had treated her sooner, maybe my aunt would still be alive by now. It's ridiculous that a patient can't die because they failed an examination or CT scan. ”
Rossana's niece also said that the family had now reported everything to the gendarmes and contacted a lawyer to prepare to file a complaint. "We will not allow those responsible for accidents to go unpunished."
According to the testimony of Rossana's family, doctors did not perform a CT scan of her until 23:00 that night. The niece added: "At 23:21 p.m. she texted us to say she was still waiting for the results of the test. She also told us she really felt pain. ”
Eventually, the CT scan confirmed rossana's condition was so serious that around 3 a.m. the doctor decided to urgently transfer her to Tor Vergata Polyclinic for surgery. However, the surgeons who performed the surgery found Rossana's body bleeding in an alarming amount. At about 5 a.m. on the 3rd, Rossana died of internal bleeding caused by a torn aortic dissection in the abdomen.
Her niece still feels incredulous about Rossana's death: "She was still awake when she went to the hospital. When her situation kept getting worse, no one ever did anything. Now her children have lost their mothers, and we have lost our aunts. ”
Although Rossana's family is currently unable to view her medical records in recent days, they have decided to file a complaint against Vannini Hospital. "My aunt just had a COVID-19 test and it turned negative. She certainly didn't die from covid-19, and she's also waiting for a 3rd dose of the vaccine. We tried to contact the hospital but no one apologized to us. We want to find someone responsible for my aunt's death now, and we want the truth. ”
On the other hand, the Lazio Regional Health Department has ordered an immediate investigation into the matter to confirm whether there are any irregularities in all steps, from Rossana's call for rescue, to the operation after being sent to the hospital, up to being transferred and performing surgery.
After hearing the news of Rossana's death, residents throughout the neighborhood expressed their condolences to her family. Rossana is a widow with three children, one of whom has passed away, and her neighbors know her.
After Rossana's death, her little granddaughter wrote this passage on social media: "Grandma, what are you doing, this news literally tore my heart apart!" You leave without saying a word. I still can't believe you're gone like this. ”
