Ploychompoo Laokiatphong defends his U21 championship title

Thailand's Ploychompoo Laokiatphong, who won the tournament for the first time three years ago, defended the U21 Championship with an absolute advantage of winning all three games and not losing a single set in this year's U21 competition.

Ploychompoo Laokiatphon, 19, defeated Briton's Chloe White and Zoe Kellington in the process of qualifying to the finals and scored a single-stroke-high score of 49 in the second set against Chloe White to lock up his final spot.

Ploychompoo Laokiatphon's final opponent was 13-year-old Lily Meldron. Originally from Australia, Meldron is her second tournament on the Women's Tour and her first on British soil. The talented teen impressed with her performance, with a 3-1 victory over Junior Top-1 Junior Scout Steph Daughtery in the quarter-finals before she reversed her victory over Japan's Miina Tani from 0:2 in the semifinals.

Coming to the final, Laokiatphong used his rich competition experience to gain a big advantage in the competition, defeating the young Meldren 3:0 to successfully defend the U21 Championship championship.
