Three images in the first row show the testing of an air cushion landing craft (LCAC) under the Ship-to-Shore Connector (SSC) revealed in a February 9 press release by the U.S. Naval Maritime Systems Command.

The three cards in the second row are old-fashioned LCAC active in the US military. The difference between the old and the new is clear at a glance.

The press release said that the new LCAC has completed the launch test of the dock landing ship from the Using Carthall Amphibious Dock Landing Ship (LSD 50) to prove its ability to integrate operations with active ships, and the plan is progressing smoothly. The test site is Panama City, Florida, where the Panama City division of the U.S. Navy Surface Warfare Center is located, and in 1985, the first test of the old LCAC was also at the site there.

Currently, the U.S. Navy has received 3 new LCACs, hull numbers 101 to 103. Construction of another 13 LCACs from 104 to 116 is underway, and it is expected that another 4 will be received within this year to gradually improve amphibious combat capabilities.
