"The steel frame snowmobile is a game for the brave, and the sense of speed in this sport is stronger than what you see outside." Zhang Jing, a test skater for the steel frame snowmobile project at the Beijing Winter Olympics, told reporters after completing the pre-race trial.
Zhang Jing, a 24-year-old 21-level graduate student at Tianjin University of Physical Education, has invested in steel frame snowmobiling from a 100-meter cross-border event in athletics.
Also known as the pitch bobsleigh, the average speed of athletes in the race can reach 130 km/h. In 1928, the steel-framed snowmobile was included in the Winter Olympics. Since then, it has been cancelled twice by the Winter Olympics because it is too thrilling, and it was not until 2002 that it was listed as an official event for the third time and has been retained to this day.
"When I first started with the steel frame snowmobile, I felt very excited, and I was physically ok, so I threw myself into this sport." Zhang Jing said.
There are four-wheeled skiing in the Winter Olympics steel frame snowmobile race, and according to the regulations, before each round of skating begins, a trial skating will be arranged. The steel frame snowmobile is fast, the test slip work is very important, it can provide feedback for track workers and operators, find problems, repair in time, so as to create good competition conditions for athletes, and also test the timing system, lighting and broadcast system.
