The history of the Steingraeber & Sohne Steingrap piano manufacturing plant began in 1820 in Thuringia, Germany. In 1852 the second generation of heirs, Edward Steinleber, moved to Bayreuth, where he completed his piano Work No. 1 – a revolutionary masterpiece that perfectly combined the "Viennese" and "British" system of piano construction!
Over the course of 30 years, he expanded the factory into the largest and most prestigious vertical and grand piano manufacturing plant in Bavaria. Beginning in 1867, Steinglieber pianos were continuously awarded various international awards. Through collaboration with well-known designers at home and abroad, Steinglipper's pianos were made the royal brand of the Bavarian Kingdom in 1906.
As the sixth generation of successors, Udo Schmidt-Steinglipper has been managing the plant since 1980. At the same time, the seventh generation of the family is ready to take over.

The principle of holistic thinking
Acoustics, mechanics, fine design and mechanical technology are the pillars of traditional piano manufacturing in Steinglier. We firmly believe that every part of the piano should be composed of natural, vibrating raw materials and combined to form a whole of musical instrument artwork. Only in this way can you feel the change of each note in the most delicate way. Even the piano's foot pedals are designed according to our philosophy of perceptual vibration, like an extension of a player's limbs.
The principle of conservation of energy
To prevent energy loss, we only use high-hardness bone glue to bond solid wood. With the exception of white glue for bottom lint and stopper, we do not use other elastic glue or reinforce it with screws. In addition, the use of high-strength metal materials and iron plate grinding and other processes can ensure that the energy is preserved and exerted to the greatest extent.
The principle of resonance
Only solid wood (or aviation materials) can produce the most harmonious resonance. While many other brands use MDF as the shell of a piano, Steinglieber uses beech, colored wood (or metallic materials) for high-frequency resonances, and spruce and pine for low-frequency resonances. In fact, the top cover, the middle plate, the keyboard, the string breaker, and many more parts all participate in the resonance.
The principle of personalized diaphragm layer
Piano soundboards made of special spruce wood are amplifiers for high and high bass, and each piece is a unique treasure. Spruce wood soundboards made by Steinglieber had to be carefully planed to become part of the piano. Sprinkling fine sand on the soundboard and tapping the strings to hear the vibrating and non-vibrating wooden board parts are the secrets of producing spindle soundboards. Before gluing the soundboard, the soundboard frame will be planned according to the curvature and slope of the soundboard.
The principle of vibration circulation
The tension inside the instrument has a direct effect on the circulation of energy. The vibration of the strings triggers a cyclic reaction on the back frame, rings, front gears, soundboards and ribs of the grand piano. Many other brands of pianos do not closely unite the front gear and the ring, which will lose energy. The tension of the upright piano is consolidated in the iron plate, side plate, soundboard frame, and leg.
Steingraeber & Sohne grand piano
All five grand piano designs in Steinglipper are based on more than 160 years of experience. At the same time, they are repeatedly updated and optimized to achieve the ideal timbre transparency, wide range, and richest overtones. In all grand piano models, the position of the string pad is determined under the mixing guidelines, resulting in rich overtones. The piano soundboard achieves a clear and transparent tone with an expanded bass range. The 36-layer transverse and 18-storey vertical beech timber frame provides sturree bourge's unique crisp tone. Linearly movable bass codes enhance the soundboard's vibration curve.
All of the iron plate structures are designed to be "open", i.e. there is no forked iron bone at the front end, which not only facilitates the control of the soft pedal, but also matches the playing skills required for fashion music.
The keyboard, which increases the rebound rate by 20%, is comfortable to the touch and responsive without slipping, and the white keys are made of mineral ivory substitutes and the black keys are made of pure ebony. In this way, the coordination between the black and white keys can be more perfectly expressed in the performance. (Due to the inconsistent torque of the black and white keys, in order to maintain the uniformity of the sinking weight of the keys, the black keys of Steinglipper are 1 g lighter than the white keys.) E Concert Grand Piano
The Steinglibert Recital grand piano model E272 is a product modeled after the classic piano of 1895. Since its birth, many pianists have regarded it as one of the most outstanding instruments in the existing piano.
D-232 Small concert grand piano
A pure classical concert grand piano for professionals. The D232, born in 2008, is the sister model of the E272. The D232 has the same handsome appearance. The perfect source reflex zone, symmetrical shape, and maximum soundboard allow it to perfectly express all movements from extremely weak (pppp) to extremely strong (ffff).
C-212 Chamber concert grand piano
The design of the chamber concert grand piano model C212 is based on the legendary grand piano of Steinglibert-Liszt: the model 205 produced in 1873. The C212 is perfect for everything the 21st century needs. At the same time, the C212 still retains all the advantages of its predecessor, the Type 205, 140 years ago. Piano masters such as Liszt, Strauss, and Barenboim praised his incomparably delicate touch.
B-192 Salon grand piano
At the Bayreuth Festival 2011, Steinglieber exhibited an evolved version of the C-212 grand piano: the B-192. The B-192 has the same mechanical design as the C-212, with slender bass strings that underpin its strong sound quality.
A-170 Salon grand piano
We don't understand our Salon grand piano A170 as a small grand piano. Because the energy it exhibits is much larger than its own size.
Steingraeber & Sohne upright piano
Steinglieber's upright piano has a tone that is no less than that of a grand piano. For example, the 130 model has the volume equivalent to that of a small grand piano with a length of 160 cm. The 138 model, which has the largest volume of any high-class piano in the world, can even compete with the 180 cm length salon grand piano.
Our "little man", the classical 122 model upright piano, is able to create a unique stage sound within the Bayreuth Opera House.

Model 138K: The largest upright piano
The volume of a 138K historical piano is comparable to that of an 180 cm long concert grand piano. In Paris it won the World's Best Piano Award. 130 T: Upright piano for professional pianists
The 130 model of the most successful piano in Steinglipper has been around for more than 90 years. Whether it is a conservatory or a university, the Type 130 upright piano has its own loyal users. Its elasticity and timbre are better than those of the general mass-produced grand piano.
122 T: Family concert piano
The 122T upright piano with a loud tone is a classic style of Steinglipper. The addition of a secondary sound board produces a louder, more mellow sound. You will find 122T pianos at the Bayreuth City Opera house in Germany, the Malmö City Opera house in Norway, the Grand Theater in Milan in Italy and numerous conservatories.
