According to Dust2.us, Valve and PGL plan to announce the details of the RMR event tomorrow, including the date and location of the offline event. According to relevant sources, the three RMR events are held in Europe, and the time is held in the two weeks of mid-April, of which the RMR event in the Americas will clash with the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown held from April 20 to 24.
Such a schedule is likely to cause major problems for teams in North and South America, as BLAST intends to host a North American-based online event for the Spring Showdown, which requires teams to stay in the U.S. mainland. THE BLAST PREMIER SPRING SHOWDOWN is currently played by Liquid, EG, Complexity and MIBR.
Notably, all four teams are partners in BLAST, which means they may have a hard time giving up on showdown. At the same time, EG and Liquid had to start from the RMR Open Qualifier due to the change of personnel.
The most likely solution to this problem is for BLAST to reschedule spring showdowns to avoid three RMR events. But this in turn will force them to hold events in the two weeks before the EPL S15 and Major events, which is usually the time period for the major teams to train and travel. The only alternative is to host the Spring Showdown three weeks before the Major event, but there is also a risk of clashing with IEM Dallas 2022.
It is not yet known how to resolve this issue, and Dust2.us has also contacted BLAST, but has not received any response at this time.
