Gerald Butler will return to "The Fall of the Night," the fourth film in the "Fall" series.
Butler will play the role of Banning again, who was promoted from Secret Service agent to Secret Service chief.
The Fall of Olympus was released in 2013, and since then it has released two sequels – The Fall of London and The Fall of Angels. So far, the series has been a huge financial success, earning more than $500 million in revenue worldwide.
Butler plays Mike Banning, a former member of the U.S. Army's Special Forces.
The Fall of Olympus revolves around North Korean terrorists attacking the White House, with Banning going to rescue U.S. President Benjamin Ashell (Aaron Eckhart). The Fall of London and The Fall of angels are also Stories of Banning's adventures. In the former, Banning accompanies the president to London and must protect the president from being assassinated by terrorists. The latter is that Banning finds himself framed in The Fall of the Angel and must work to clear himself of the charges.
The plot details of "The Fall of the Night" have not yet been finalized. One potential storyline could be about Banning's new sense of responsibility as The Secret Service Chief, who may also be responsible for protecting Alan Trump (Morgan Freeman), who will become the new president of the United States after Benjamin's term ends.
Either way, the audience was thrilled to learn that Butler would return to play the brave and determined Mike Banning.
