Beginning in January 1942, with the cooperation of the Ccp's Hong Kong underground organization, the Dongjiang Armed Workers and Traffic Officers contacted people in Hong Kong's cultural circles and began to organize their transfer in batches. The transfer is divided into two rescue routes, water and land, and a sea route, which belongs to the western route. It was through this route that a number of cultural celebrities and democrats, such as Xia Yan, a famous literary scholar in modern China, Liang Shuming, a famous thinker, philosopher, and educator known as "China's last great Confucian," Fan Changjiang, a famous Chinese journalist, and Situ Huimin, a Chinese film artist and director, as well as Cai Chusheng, Jin Shan, Wang Ying, Zhang Youyu, Han Youtong, Yu Feng, Jin Zhonghua, Shen Pu, Lu Fu, and Chen Jisheng, were transferred through this route. They took a small boat with a sail, first transferred from Hong Kong to Macau, then from Macau Coloane to Taishan Duhu Landing, after staying overnight in Duhu, they entered Taishan County, and then transferred to other safe areas.
