So we began to develop naval gas turbines in 1985, when there were only two companies in the world that mastered the most advanced gas turbine technology, one was the United States General Motors; the other was Germany's Siemens, they implemented a strict blockade of these technologies, the former Soviet Union gave us a part of the technical information, Although the Shanghai Turbine Factory only took 11 months to complete the manufacture of prototypes, but it was a continuous failure, the stability was extremely poor.

The United States and Germany not only implement technical blockades, but even do not sell products to us. There is no way, we can only rely on our own groping to strive for domestic production. By 1974, our domestic gas turbines finally made some small progress, and it seemed that they were about to force out a competitor, so GM took the initiative to promise to sell us LM25000 heavy-duty gas turbines. I think what they did back then was much smarter than the current chip technique, because completely stuck not only can't make money, but also quickly force out a competitor.

In this way, we did not seize an opportunity until after the disintegration of Eastern Europe to completely break the product monopoly and technology blockade of gas turbines. We know that before the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Ukrainian region was a strong military reserve area of the Soviet Union, but after the disintegration, the Ukrainian state could not support such a huge military expenditure, and had to sell part of its family property. We aimed at this opportunity and purchased the GD25000 gas turbine from Ukraine. But this model is not easy to use after taking it back, because its stability has inherent design flaws, so we must also improve on it. In the end, when we produced the CGT25-D gas turbine, we found that a large part of the parts and technology were independently developed. This gas turbine is the heavy-duty gas turbine sold to Russia this time.

So I still say that for a country with a huge domestic demand market, whether it is restricting sales or blocking technology, the result can only be to force out a strong competitor.
