This is the red carpet scene of the opening ceremony of the Berlin International Film Festival filmed in Berlin, Germany, on February 10.

The main competition section of the French film "Peter von Kant" opened the film festival. Directed by French director François Oujong, the film tells the love story of a filmmaker.

A total of 18 films participated in the competition for the Gold and Silver Bear Awards in the main competition unit of this film festival. The awards in the main competition unit will be announced on the 16th, and the film festival will last until the 20th.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, all participants in offline indoor events at the festival are required to wear masks, complete vaccinations and present a negative nucleic acid test certificate within 24 hours.

Founded in 1951, the Berlin Film Festival, together with the Cannes Film Festival in France and the Venice Film Festival in Italy, is called the three major film festivals in Europe.
