Thailand's Ministry of Health has pointed to a recent increase in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among children

Thailand network reported that according to Thai media news, on February 10, officials from the Department of Disease Control of the Thai Ministry of Health revealed that in the past week, the number of confirmed new crown cases in the 0-19-year-old group in Thailand has increased, of which most of the 0-9-year-old group is infected from the family, and most of the 10-19-year-old group is infected from school. Some of the 15- to 19-year-olds are infected outside their home or community. Although the number of confirmed cases in children aged 5-11 years has increased, most of them have relatively mild symptoms.

If a family becomes infected, children are called upon to distance themselves from the elderly in their families or those with chronic diseases, especially those over the age of 70, who are 200 times more likely to die after COVID-19 than young children. The Ministry of Health is calling on people, especially children and the elderly, to actively vaccinate against COVID-19 to reduce the risk of infection, severe illness and death.
