SI swimsuit model Camille Kostek: "I had to pray it would fit"

author:Takachihiro ins

The Sports Illustrated swimsuit model attended the Si awards ceremony in Florida with her longtime boyfriend, Tampa Bay Pirates intrient Rob Gronkowski. The former cover girl, dressed in a gold cutout gown designed by celebrity fashion designer Usama Ishtay, proudly flaunted her assets that left her jaw dropping. The 29-year-old completed the look with a clutch bag in the shape of a soccer ball.

Fast forward to 2022, and the star has already shined on TBS's new episode "Wipeout," where she serves as a live host. The Extreme Steeplechase series, hosted by John Cena and Nicole Byer, was the hottest new show of the summer of 2008. It has attracted an international following, bringing with it several spin-offs and specials, including the latest popular renditions.

Kostek told Fox News about her famous bold dress, what it's like to host "Wipeout" and how she's sweating in the new year.

Fox News: You recently attended the SI Awards in Florida and wore a dress that was both gorgeous and bold. What's the story behind that dress?

Camille Kostek: You get the best out of spontaneous decisions, and that's exactly what that dress looks like. That will be the end of 2021. That will be my last appearance on the carpet this year.

Rob and I were going to go to the event together, which was very rare because he was in the middle of the football season when the awards ceremony happened. So I want some that will be a really amazing moment. I wanted to feel charming, especially knowing that there wouldn't be any holiday parties that year.

I want a beautiful dress. I want to end the year with a loud bang. There is also a designer that I have always admired. I got in touch, I had this vision for this dress, it was given life. I had never tried on this dress before I landed in Tampa. About three hours before the show, I finished my hair and makeup. Then I put on this dress and I had to pray that it would fit.

It's perfect. I've never tried it before, so I'm not sure if it's right for my body. In terms of measuring every inch of my body, it's all done with Zoom. But it's perfect. This is a big risk. I have a spare dress just in case, but it doesn't look like that. It's a glamorous, shiny, hip-exposed, undefeated dress. That's what really happens. Either all or nothing. So I'm glad it came together.

Fox News: Speaking of the new year, a lot of people want to reach their health goals by 2022. It's no secret that you're a big advocate of dancing. What tips or tricks would you give to someone who wants to both sweat and have fun?

Kostek: Oh, it's easy. Everyone can dance. That doesn't mean you're good. But everyone can get their body moving and have fun. For me, when I'm not in the mood to exercise, I like to do what I call aerobic dance.

I don't like running. I don't like treadmills or elliptical machines... For me, I just like to put on music and clean up some floor space. It doesn't even have to be a gym. You just want to dance and get your body moving... It's fun and it's free. We all have that child in our hearts. I think it's the funniest way to get you moving and get a smile on your face. Play a few of your favorite songs and you'll dance for 15 minutes straight.

Fox News: What do you think when you see the cover of the 2019 SI swimsuit?

Kostek: Wow. To me, the only limitations people have in life are the limits they set for themselves. I would say it's something I learned from myself. When I look at that cover, it's like, wow, the moment you start to fully believe in yourself, you can achieve your dreams.

I no longer compare myself to other people, especially in an industry where it's easy to compare myself to other people, when it comes to models and the way your body appears, especially in swimwear. The moment I let go of those fears and limitations, I was able to achieve my dreams, as if it were on that cover.

This is the message I want to share with you. Stop limiting yourself. Be brave, be brave, be brave, believe in yourself. The best thing that comes from this, you'll be closer to your true self. I think the best thing comes from pushing boundaries. So every time I see that cover, I see someone who believes in themselves. She believed she could, and she went to see what was going on. To this day, I still like to talk about it because I have that ecstatic feeling, as if it happened yesterday. So my message? Go ahead.

Fox News: Wipeout is launching a new series in time for the new year. How exciting is this for you?

Kostak: I love it. I had a great time on set. Watching these episodes is exciting for me because I can remember how everything happened and I can relive the excitement I felt. So I've been looking forward to it. I liked that it was a family show. I can bring my friends, my boyfriends, and even my family together, especially those nieces and nephews who are so young. Everyone can watch and enjoy it together.

Fox News: In retrospect, what made Wipeout want to be a part of it?

Kostek: When I saw the headlines about the imminent revival of TBS, I knew I had to get involved in some way, whether it was as a host or as a participant in the obstacle course. No doubt, no hesitation.

So when they invited me to be one of the presenters, I was very, very excited because I had a great time. I go to work every day, talk to the contestants and share their stories. I would laugh and sometimes even cry – always tears of joy. I feel very lucky to have this job. I'm glad "Wipeout" is back.

Fox News: You're a live host, but would you consider playing at some point, even if it's a one-night only event?

Kosterk: Absolutely. I think we should have a host episode and no one cooperated. I think it should be individuals who manage the course (laughs).

Fox News: There are reports that you are afraid of the dark and always use night lights. What does it take to complete the challenge completely in the dark?

Kosterk: Oh my God! Look, I'm not afraid of heights. I'm not afraid to fly. I'm not afraid of a lot of things. But the darkness is terrible. I don't even like horror movies. What do you need? I mean, listen, after I just said to be fearless and push myself and all that (laughs).

I have to say I will do it. But I only do this if I'm challenged, and I have to prove something to myself and others. Maybe it's like how long I can hold out after you close the door and turn off all the lights. So it doesn't take much. I just can't guarantee how long I can hold out without wanting to cry or find the light (laughs).
