BEIJING, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- On Feb. 11, U.S. Secretary of State Blinken claimed at Australia's Quad Security Dialogue (QUAD) that China's behavior at home and abroad was "becoming more aggressive," though he also believed that conflict in the Indo-Pacific region was not inevitable. In this regard, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said at today's regular press conference that mentioning "aggressiveness" and that if the United States claims to be second, no country dares to call itself first.

"The relevant remarks of US politicians are purely repetitive and full of political lies." Zhao Lijian pointed out that the reason why the US side plays up the China threat is to smear, suppress and contain China's development. It also fully exposes the deep-seated Cold War mentality and ideological bias of the United States. The Chinese side firmly opposes the relevant remarks made by the US side.

Zhao Lijian said: "In the region and the world, if it mentions 'aggressive', if the United States claims to be second, no country dares to call itself first." ”
