1. The Tianjin Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau investigated the "Mission 2003" waste smuggling case

On May 28, 2020, the Tianjin Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau dispatched 50 police personnel in the first round of concentrated crackdowns of the "Blue Sky 2020" special operation of the General Administration of Customs to carry out the "Mission 2003" waste smuggling case, arrested 3 criminal suspects, and seized 498,000 tons of solid waste prohibited by the state. After investigation, between November 2019 and April 2020, the criminal suspect smuggled a large amount of waste slag into the country through false concealment in order to obtain benefits.

From October 12 to November 25, 2020, the Nanning Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau, together with the Public Security Department of Guangxi Autonomous Region and the Nanning Municipal Public Security Bureau, launched a special operation to combat smuggling pangolins, smashing 5 smuggling criminal gangs, arresting 18 criminal suspects, seizing 58 live pangolins, 22 frozen bodies, and 125.3 kilograms of scales, and verifying 23 smuggled pangolins. After investigation, after ordering live pangolins and pangolin scales abroad, the smuggling gang smuggled them into China through Non-Customs Clearance Areas in China and Vietnam, and then smuggled them into Guangdong, Guangxi and other places through car clips to sell them for profit.

3. The Jiangmen Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau investigated the "SY730" smuggling of totoaba and fish glue

On August 2, 2020, the Jiangmen Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau, with the cooperation of local public security organs, launched the "SY730" crackdown on the smuggling and collection of totoaba fish glue, dispatched 50 police forces, and carried out investigation and arrest in Jiangmen, Shenzhen, Maoming and other places in Guangdong Province, arrested 6 criminal suspects, smashed 2 smuggling criminal gangs, and seized 288 suspected totoaba fish glue on the spot. The whole case verified the smuggling of 3602 totoaba fish glue, with a case value of about 300 million yuan. After investigation, the smuggling gang purchased totoaba fish glue abroad, shipped it to Hong Kong or Vietnam, and then smuggled it into the country by means of express delivery or smuggling at non-customs clearance on the Sino-Vietnamese border.

Fourth, the Fuzhou Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau "Block -06" land-sea joint crackdown on the smuggling of refined oil products special operation

On September 17, 2020, the Fuzhou Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau and the Fujian Coast Guard Bureau, with the cooperation of the Xiamen, Chengdu, Wuhan Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau and the Fuzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau, launched the "Block-06" land-sea joint action to crack down on the smuggling of refined oil products, dispatched more than 200 police forces, arrested 43 criminal suspects, sealed 1 oil depot involved in the case, seized 7 ships involved in the case, suspected of smuggling about 600 tons of refined oil, and smashed 8 refined oil smuggling gangs active in the central and eastern waters of Fujian. The case was worth about 1.3 billion yuan, and it was verified that about 250,000 tons of refined oil products were smuggled into the case. After investigation, the smuggling gang involved in the case smuggled refined oil products into the country through sea smuggling and sold them to Fujian, Zhejiang and other places in China.

On September 1, 2020, 10 customs anti-smuggling bureaus directly under Shenzhen, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Beijing, Harbin, Nanjing, Xiamen, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Chengdu, etc., with the support and cooperation of public security organs in many places, launched the "8.04" centralized crackdown on diamond smuggling in more than 20 cities such as Shenzhen, Shanghai and Hangzhou, dispatching more than 1,000 police forces, arresting 121 criminal suspects, and seizing more than 2,520 diamonds suspected of smuggling, more than 4,000 carats of broken diamonds, and 158 pieces of diamond-set jewelry. The total value of the case is 5.9 billion yuan. After investigation, the smuggling gang involved in the case smuggled diamonds and other items from the Shenzhen port through "water passengers" and vehicles from Guangdong and Hong Kong by means of personal hiding and means of transport.

6. Wuhan and other customs anti-smuggling bureaus "9.21" special operation to crack down on smuggling in cross-border e-commerce channels

On September 21, 2020, the Wuhan Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau, together with five directly subordinate customs anti-smuggling bureaus in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Xiamen, harbin and other five directly subordinate customs, dispatched more than 530 police forces to simultaneously carry out the "9.21" joint special operation to crack down on smuggling in cross-border e-commerce channels in Hubei, Tianjin, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Heilongjiang, Fujian and other places, smashing 15 smuggling gangs and arresting 58 criminal suspects with a case value of 1.68 billion yuan. After investigation, from May 2019 to the occurrence of the case, a cross-border e-commerce platform company in Wuhan falsely quoted cosmetics, milk powder, red wine and other goods that should be imported in the general trade mode as cross-border e-commerce to smuggle imports, and significantly understated the price of goods.

7. The Guangzhou Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau investigates the "Fight 33" gun smuggling case

On October 22, 2020, the Anti-Smuggling Bureau of Guangzhou Customs launched the "Fight 33" special operation to crack down on gun smuggling, dispatched 20 police forces, and carried out unified investigation and arrest operations in Guangzhou, Quanzhou and other places, arresting 3 criminal suspects and seizing 21 aerodynamic guns on the spot. After investigation, from July 2020 to the occurrence of the case, after the criminal suspect entrusted the purchase of aerodynamic firearms in Hong Kong, the guns were dismantled and hidden in food packaging, and smuggled into the country in batches through postal channels.

8. The Qingdao Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau investigated the "6.11" smuggling of narcotics

On June 11, 2020, the Qingdao Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau filed a case to investigate the "6.11" smuggling of drug-making substances, arrested 3 criminal suspects, and seized 12 tons of smuggled acetic anhydride. After investigation, the criminal suspect, in order to obtain benefits, colluded with overseas personnel to illegally purchase acetic anhydride, a class II precursor chemical controlled by the state, and falsely reported smuggling to the customs under the name of wall paint, paint thinner, etc.

9. Gongbei, Nanning, Kunming and other customs anti-smuggling bureaus "903" crackdown on fruit smuggling in border trade channels centralized network collection operations

On October 20, 2020, the Anti-Smuggling Bureau of Gongbei, Nanning, Kunming, Changsha, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Guiyang, Guangzhou and Chongqing customs simultaneously launched the "903" crackdown on fruit smuggling in border trade channels in Guangxi, Yunnan, Chongqing, Guangdong, Hunan, Sichuan and Guizhou, arresting 81 smuggling suspects and destroying 25 smuggling gangs, with a case value of 160 million yuan. 10. Huangpu Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau "HP2020-10" special operation to combat the smuggling of frozen goods

On September 3, 2020, the Huangpu Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau, with the assistance of the Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hefei, Shanghai, Hangzhou Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau and the public security organs of Dongguan, Hefei, Shanghai, Taizhou and other places, launched the "HP2020-10" special operation to combat the smuggling of frozen goods, dispatched 320 police forces, and carried out unified arrest and investigation operations in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hefei, Shanghai and Taizhou, arrested 10 criminal suspects, and smashed an extraordinarily large frozen smuggling gang with a case value of 13.57 billion yuan. After investigation, the smuggling gang ordered frozen products such as beef, chicken wings, and pork offal from overseas suppliers, and smuggled imports at guangzhou, Shenzhen, and other ports in the form of understated prices, and after customs clearance, the smuggled goods were transported to Dongguan, Taizhou and other places for sale for profit.
