Jiangmen Customs arrested major suspects suspected of smuggling totoaba fish glue

Recently, the anti-smuggling department of Jiangmen Customs dug deep into the clues of the previous case and, on the basis of meticulous investigation, took an arrest action against Fu Mou, a major suspect who smuggled totoaba gelatin in the Gulf of California, and seized 8 smuggled totoaba fish glue at the scene in his home. After interrogation, Fu confessed to the crime of participating in the smuggling of totoaba fish glue. The initial estimated value of the case is about 5 million yuan, and it is currently under further investigation.

The Gulf of California totoaba is an endemic endangered species found only in the Gulf of California, Mexico, and was listed as a protected animal in CITES Appendix I of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora in 1976, and was the first fish to be listed on CITES Appendix I. Commercial trade is strictly prohibited.
