There are not a few people who can't understand Jinan Jingwei Road, and I was once one of them. I lived in Jinan's Dongcheng before I got married, and I came to the old commercial port after I got married, and when I first started to live here, people said that when I went through a few roads and a few roads and a few roads and a few roads, I was confused. I have lived here for a long time, and gradually figured out the doorway named after the longitude and latitude road here, and now when others ask me which place in this area, I will open my mouth and say how many ways to go.
In fact, the naming of the road in Jinan's old commercial port is very interesting and learned, it is named after the latitude and longitude, but if you identify the direction according to the longitude and latitude of the geography class, you will be dizzy again. Here, just opposite to the direction of longitude and latitude in geography, the road of the old commercial port in Jinan is called the east-west road "meridian road", and the north-south direction is called "latitude road". Why is it named that way? We learned from the history of Jinan that in 1904, the Jiaoji Railway was completed and opened to traffic, and the Qing government designated an area outside Xiguan as a commercial port in Jinan. At that time, the commercial port area was about five miles long from east to west, and less than three miles from north to south. At that time, Jinan's textile industry was more prosperous, according to the ancient fabric "the elder is the warp, the short is the weft", it is named the east-west road in the commercial port area as the "jing", from the north to the railway limited by the "jing yi road" to the south in turn, jing yi lu all the way to the eleventh road; the north and south direction of the road named "wei", from the east to the ten kings hall of the "wei yi road" in turn to the west, wei yi road to wei twelve road, and the longitude road perpendicular intersection. The short weft road between the longitude and latitude is generally named Xiaowei Road, for example, my family lives in Xiaowei 6th Road. The advantage of this naming is that if you go to which intersection, it is convenient to indicate the location, such as "longitude and latitude seven", that is the intersection of longitude 1st road and 7th way. The meridian and latitude are like figurative warp and weft lines, stringing together countless intersections of the old commercial port.
Speaking of the old commercial port road named after the longitude and latitude, there is also a joke: In the Republic of China period, Jinan repaired the first east-west trunk road, and a traffic ceremony was about to be held, but it had not yet been named, and the official came to ask Han Fuyu, the chairman of Shandong Province. Chairman Han was born in the army, did not have much culture, but he was good and elegant, and since his subordinates came to ask for instructions, he could afford a better name. It just so happened that there was a globe on the stage, and Chairman Han had some knowledge of geography, and knowing that there were latitudes and longitudes, he said, "Let's call it the longitude and latitude road!" ”
The official was worried and cautiously asked, "Would you please make it clear to the chairman, is it a meridian road or a weft road?" ”
Chairman Han knew that there were east longitudes, west longitudes, and southern latitudes and northern latitudes, and he was impatient, so he said: "How can you not have any geographical knowledge, the east-west direction is the meridian road, and the north-south direction is the latitude road, go!" ”
Officials no longer dared to speak, and the longitude and latitude road in Jinan City was thus fixed. Wrong to now, Jinan people are also used to it, will be wrong, you can also tell Chairman Han's jokes, will not change.
In the 1930s, the old commercial port was a very prosperous commercial area, with old businesses, banks, cinemas and theaters along the route. The Grand View Garden at longitude 4 and 2, the Beiyang Grand Theater at 1st and 3rd, Rui Cunxiang at 2nd and 4th, Zhongshan Park at 3rd and 5th, and the Provincial Hospital at 6th and 7th are lined up.
After walking through the longitude and latitude road of a hundred years, it can be called a natural museum of Jinan's open port culture and witness the modern history of Jinan. Most of the buildings in the commercial port area are a combination of Chinese and Western. Located on Weiliu Road, the former site of Fengda Bank was built in 1919 and is called "Old Foreign Firm" by the people of Jinan. It is the "lone book" of the old commercial port area with the Southern European Baroque style.
Jingsi Road Church is the first Christian church built by Chinese, and it still stands as new after more than 100 years of wind and rain.

Just like Liu Huan's singing of "Once Upon a Time Slow": I remember when I was a teenager earlier, everyone sincerely said a sentence in the morning at the train station, the long street was dark and pedestrianless, and the small shop selling soybean milk was steaming In the past, the sun became slow, the cars, horses, and mail were slow, and the previous lock was only enough to love one person in a lifetime.
Tall, stout French plane trees on both sides of the road isolate the noisy world outside. In the summer, vehicles and pedestrians pass through the green tunnel-like roads, not rushing or slowing down, but there is never a risk of traffic jams. The narrower and more smooth, it seems to have become a special scenery of Jinan Jingwei Road. It rains lightly and people don't even need to bring an umbrella when they go out. Because the lush French plane tree above the head is the best green umbrella. I commute to work every day under the dense plane trees of Jingsan Road, walk through the four seasons, and I use my mobile phone to record the different scenery of spring, summer, autumn and winter.
This old city that has walked through more than a century calmly witnesses the vicissitudes of Jinan and continues to quietly accompany the life of Jinan people.
