"The genus of dead yin is only three days of death, and the genus of life and yang is only four days." The so-called life yang and death yin, the heart of the liver is called the birth of yang, the heart of the lungs is called the death of the yin, the kidney of the lungs is the heavy yin, the spleen of the kidney is the yin, and death is incurable. ——" The Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic: The Theory of Yin and Yang

Hello listeners, I am Dr. Peng Xin, a Chinese medicine doctor, today we continue to explain the "Yellow Emperor Neijing Su Qing Yin and Yang Farewell Chapter 7", let's first look at the original text: "The genus of dead yin, but three days and death, the genus of life and yang, but only four days." The so-called life yang and death yin, the heart of the liver is called the birth of yang, the heart of the lungs is called the death of the yin, the kidney of the lungs is the heavy yin, the spleen of the kidney is the yin, and death is incurable." Although this passage is very short, and has a certain degree of reasoning, the focus here is on the problem of the birth of the five viscera and prognosis. What is dead yin and what is shengyang, I am here to explain to you. (Today's headline @ Dr. Peng Xin, Chinese medicine) The transmission of disease and evil in the five viscera is sometimes transmitted in the order of the five elements, if it is transmitted according to the order of the five elements, it is called dead yin; if it is transmitted according to the order of the five elements, it is called shengyang. Therefore, Zhang Zhicong said in the "Su Qing Ji Xie": "The five viscera are passed on from each other, which is called the death of yin, and the transmission of life is called the birth of yang." The illness that belongs to the dead yin is only three days, in fact, the death mentioned here, it is difficult for us to travel to the Han Dynasty or even earlier ancient China to ask the writers, does this death mean death? Because in the modern medical system, many patients may not die so easily, because large hospitals have intensive care, nutritional support, may be a terminal illness in ancient times, and now through infusion or rescue, it is possible that the terminal illness can be saved.

So this death I judge this way, I personally think that when I die a few days ago, when I see such content, I must have an idea, maybe this death refers to the prognosis in the modern medical sense, or the disease is aggravated, this meaning is more appropriate to explain, rather than saying that three days, seventy-two hours must die, which is not necessarily true. Therefore, it makes sense for us to apply ancient books to modern times, and it is meaningless to always dwell on them for a few days in ancient times. So what I understand here is that it is a disease that belongs to the dead yin, but it will worsen in three days, or the prognosis is not good. It belongs to the disease of shengyang, but it will be cured in four days, and the contrast is so obvious.

Looking further down, "the so-called life yang and death yin, the heart of the liver is called the birth yang", he began to explain what is the life yang and death yin. The heart of the liver, "of" refers to the meaning of "to", from the liver to the heart, from the liver to the heart of what? It is wood that makes fire, and the five elements are angry with each other, so it is called shengyang. "The lungs of the heart are called the dead yin", that is, the heart disease spreads to the lungs, from the heart to the lungs, the heart belongs to the fire, the lungs belong to the gold, with the fire to the gold, the yin qi will die, so it is called the death yin. This situation of death yin will only die in three days, this situation may be aggravated after three days, or worse or dangerous, the prognosis is not good, this is a birth yang, a dead yin, he explained here.

Let's look further back, "the kidneys of the lungs are heavy yin." Lung disease is transmitted to the kidneys, yin is transmitted to yin, and the marquis without yang is called heavy yin. What does that mean? That is, the lungs belong to gold, the kidneys belong to water, and gold and water are born together, which is originally a mother and child. Why is it that it is heavy yin when you come to this place? Because both gold and water belong to yin, "gold and water are sick, so it is known as heavy yin, and the marquis of no yang is also." This is Zhang Jiebin's annotation. In this way, there is no yang called heavy yin. "The spleen of the kidney is called the yin, and death cannot be cured." Puting means wounding, so it is called purging yin, and Zhang Jiebin said "purging, purging also." The soil makes water, and the water insults the spleen, and the water is fearless. That is to say, the soil was originally restrictive of water, and at this time the disease of the kidneys, that is, the disease of the water spread to the soil, to the spleen, and this time it is equivalent to water regurgitating the spleen, that is, the original soil should be regurgitated, and the water was not given to the water, but the water also regurgitated the soil, which cannot be called anti-gram, and in the "Inner Classic" it is called anti-insult, bullying insult. In this way, there is nothing to fear from the water, and there is nothing to be afraid of when the water is gone. He was originally afraid of the soil, but now the soil is so weak and small, it has been bullied by me, and I am not afraid of anyone, that's it. In this way, it is called yin removal. Ancient people believed that this kind of death certificate is called "death without treatment", that is, the prognosis is very bad, or the condition may worsen, and this situation will come out.

Here you may not have a special understanding of the five elements of shengke, gold, wood, water, fire, earth five elements of shengke, I will have time to talk to you about it later, probably means jin kemu, mu ke earth, tu ke water, water ke fire, fire ke jin, is such a phase, symbiosis is wood fire, fire born earth, native gold, gold born water, aquatic wood, this circle is back, this is the symbiosis of gram. There is a content here called anti-insult, anti-insult is that it should have been Tuke water, the soil restrained or restricted the water, the water is too strong, not restricted by the soil, it is not restrained by the soil, he began to bully in turn or the ancients called the bullying of the soil.

In this way, this is called water regurgitation of the soil, and so on, originally the fire is too strong, after the gold is too strong, it will regurgitate the fire, not subject to the restriction of the fire, and in turn bully the fire, the gold will regurgitate the fire, such as Muketu, the soil is too strong, back to insult the wood, this situation will also appear, this is the meaning of the so-called anti-insult. This is the meaning of this paragraph, we will appear in the clinic between the liver, heart, spleen, lungs, kidneys of this transmission, this disease between the transmission, in the future when encountering real examples, we will talk to you in detail about the problem of transmission.

The emphasis on this transmission focuses on the logical relationship called symbiosis. So here we reviewed the five elements of Sheng ke, and what is the meaning of regurgitation, after everyone understands, it is convenient to better understand the meaning of the following text.

Well, today's lesson is over, thank you for listening, we will see you in the next class. (To be continued)
