The Cadillac brand officially returned to the 24 Hours of Le Mans after a gap of 21 years.
Cadillac announced that it will compete in the INTERNATIONAL Motor Sports Association (IMSA) WEATHERTECH Racing Championship and the Western Motor Club (ACO) Grand Touring PROTOYPE in 2023 with the fourth-generation Cadicca cuckoo V-series prototype.
Cadillac's participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France dates back to the 1950s. In this classic European road race in 1950, two Cadillac cars appeared. These include a 61 Series coupe. The other model, with its subversive modifications and aerodynamic innovations, was hailed by French fans as the "LE MONSTRE Le Mans Beast".
