Selected Essays of the Shepherd No. 38: Inaction

Yue Ruo TongTian Sun Lipeng Book

Whether it is calligraphy or painting, it is the expression of the emotions and ideas of the writer and painter. The different treatments of horizontal, vertical, skimming, pinching, dotting, coloring, ink, and line reflect their views on things. Or seal, or subordinate, or grass, or kai, or intention, or work are the unity of the external expression of the contents of the book and the internal emotions of the subjective thoughts of the writer and painter. Thus causing the viewer and later generations to resonate with the cultural emotions of the writers and painters and the cultural emotions. Not every writer or painter can control and use it at will, nor can every writer or painter achieve this effect.

The first page of Sun Lipeng's calligraphy collection is the word "Wuwei". It is said that it is the first page, the table of contents is not received, and the page number is not annotated, which can be seen as the self-prologue of Sun Lipeng's calligraphy collection. The word "wuwei" in the horizontal, vertical, apostrophe and pinching structure of the chai he stick seems to be arbitrary, but it gives people the ancient and the flood, and the super-pulling atmosphere also runs through the whole book. The last page is a couplet: "If Guangdong is called the most virtuous in the same heaven, it has never been wise in doing nothing." There is a small interpretation on the side of the link, and the pen is written in cursive: "This link even has the meaning of Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching, so I write it with a seal book, and I don't know if it can enter the eyes of the people at the time." This is Sun Lipeng's self-annotation in his pursuit of the art of calligraphy, and he put this couplet on the last page of the calligraphy collection, which is naturally a pocket-sized "trek". Starting with "doing nothing" and ending with "doing nothing", he has completed the artistic sublimation from "doing nothing" to "doing nothing".
