Chongqing, February 10 (Xinhua) -- Snowflakes are flying, and on the beginner road, children learn the basic skiing moves under the guidance of instructors; on the intermediate road, basic enthusiasts strive to improve their skiing skills; on the terrain park, "enthusiasts" gallop down to enjoy the speed and passion of skiing... This is not an outdoor ski resort in the alpine region, but the largest indoor ski resort in Chongqing, "Sunac Snow World".

Chen Jingsen, 13, attends a three-day snowboarding camp here. When he skied for the first time at the age of 8, he fell in love with the sport. Chen Jingsen said: "I used to ski on the fairy mountain in Chongqing, and my parents drove me to take me for more than 3 hours, but now with the indoor ski resort, skiing has become convenient. ”

Liu Jia, head of Chongqing's "Sunac Snow World", introduced that the snow field covers an area of 25,000 square meters, officially opened in September 2020, including snow play and skiing, with 4 primary ski trails, 1 intermediate ski run, 2 terrain parks, a constant temperature of minus 6 degrees Celsius throughout the year, can simulate snow scenes, and set up a professional ski coach team.

Liu Jia said that the Beijing Winter Olympics have effectively promoted the popularization of ice and snow sports, and the ski industry has entered a golden period of development. Citizens of southern cities have a natural preference for snow, and their enthusiasm for skiing is rising year by year, but the southern ski resources are scarce, and only a few high-altitude areas have built ski resorts, with long distances and short snow seasons, which are difficult to meet the skiing needs of the masses. "The city's indoor ski resort can be skied all year round, and the transportation is convenient, so that citizens can also ski at their doorstep. Since the Spring Festival this year, we have received about 3,000 tourists every day, an increase of nearly 30% over the same period last year. ”

The reporter saw in the snow field that tourists lined up to buy tickets in a long line, and 50 ski instructors were "booked out". Li Wei, a coach from the northeast who is teaching children snowboarding, said that in the past, there were more tourists playing snow in the southern snow field, and there were fewer people who wanted to ski, driven by the Beijing Winter Olympics, and now tourists who come to the snow park want to ask the coach to teach professional skiing skills and actions.

To promote snow sports in the South, venues are key. "Our group company has built indoor ski resorts in 6 cities across the country, of which 5 are in the south and 4 are under construction. The increasing number of indoor ski resorts is making skiing a daily leisure sport for more and more Southerners. Liu Jia said.
