This Chinese traditional lunar Year of the Tiger Spring Festival, the famous Matsu figure Cao Erzhong spent the New Year in Fuzhou. This was also his first Chinese New Year in the mainland.

The first time he "landed" for the New Year, Cao Erzhong was particularly busy. On February 9, when he was interviewed by reporters in Fuzhou, he told the story: Attending a gathering of Matsu villagers living in Fuzhou, having dinner with the signatories and witnesses of the "Fuzhou Mawei-Matsu Agreement on Strengthening Non-governmental Exchanges and Cooperation" (hereinafter referred to as the "'Two Horses' Agreement"), and talking with Taiwan compatriots in Rong's New Year's Fireplace...

"We all work together to create a better life, and we deeply feel that this is a common pursuit." After participating in several consecutive activities, Cao Erzhong found that the topic of everyone's chat always revolved around the "Fuma Common Home".

Promoting the Fuzhou Metropolitan Area and Matsu to build a "Common Home for Fuzhou and Matsu" is one of the key tasks implemented by the Fuzhou Municipal Party Committee and the Fuzhou Municipal Government this year. On the first day of the Lunar New Year, Lin Baojin, member of the Standing Committee of the Fujian Provincial CPC Committee and secretary of the Fuzhou Municipal CPC Committee, came to the Taiwan Youth Entrepreneurship Base of the Fuzhou Municipal Workers' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Creation Center, and when communicating with Taiwan compatriots in the Rong New Year, he also said that Fuzhou will give full play to its advantages in the vicinity of Taiwan, focus on deepening exchanges and cooperation, strive to explore a new road for the integration and development of the two sides of the strait, and accelerate the construction of a "Common Home for Fuzhou and Malaysia."

Cao Erzhong believes that this is an excellent opportunity for Taiwan Youth.

"There are many youth entrepreneurship bases in Fuzhou, and I think that if there is an opportunity to integrate these bases, provide Taiwanese youth as the minimum threshold for entering the mainland to start a business, I believe that Taiwanese youth are very interested in coming to development." In Cao Erzhong's view, the construction of the "Fuma Common Home" should not only attract people, but also let them have a livelihood and a life.

Cao Erzhong believes that Matsu youth in Fuzhou are fluent in language, living habits are the same, the same origin and ancestors, if they can successfully start a business in Fuzhou, it will play a positive role in motivating more young people in Taiwan, "let's develop together."

"To gather the strength of young people, if you fight alone, the hope of success is not great." He laughed and said that Fuzhou has so many blessings to benefit the people, which can make young people really benefit. He said that he was willing to provide assistance to the best of his ability and strive to give the Mazu youth and The Taiwan youth a broader space for development.

On January 28, 2001, the "'Two Horses' Agreement" was signed, which was the first local counterpart cooperation agreement between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait and a major breakthrough in cross-strait non-governmental exchanges.

As one of the signatories of the "Two Horses" Agreement, Cao Erzhong recalled that January 28, 2021 is the 20th anniversary of the signing of the "Two Horses Agreement", and a dinner party was held in Matsu for the signatories and witnesses, but the relevant personnel in Mawei could not participate due to the epidemic. "This year, I was able to make up for this regret and have dinner with the people who witnessed the horsetail side, talk about the year, exchange views and look forward to the future."

"Cross-strait exchanges and cooperation should be our consensus that everyone should work together and move forward in a positive direction, smoothly, smoothly, and steadily." Cao Erzhong said.

Today, Cao Erzhong's son is also developing in Fuzhou and engaged in the coffee industry. This time, Cao Erzhong came to accompany his son to celebrate the New Year.

Of course, Cao Erzhong also had to visit relatives and friends, visit relatives in Changle, Fuzhou, and experience the traditional "flowing water mat". "We have similar events in Matsu, where the customs of both sides are the same and the atmosphere is warm." Cao Erzhong said, "Everyone is lively together for the Spring Festival, and such emotions are constantly cut. ”

This Spring Festival, Cao Erzhong is busy and happy. On February 11, he will also participate in the 20th "Two Horses and Spring Lantern Festival" activity in Mawei in Mawei, and feel the deep origin and family atmosphere of the "two horses" in the reunion of villagers on both sides of the strait to spend the Lantern Festival.
