On February 10, the first round of the men's U-shaped field skill final of the Beijing Winter Olympics began to compete. Among the four Japanese contestants, Hirano Kaisuke, the first to play, played the best, scoring 75.50 points, temporarily ranking third after the first round, and Totsuka Yuto also completed the set of moves, but only scored 62.00 points. At the end of the first round, the number one player was Taylor Gold of the United States, who scored 81.75 points, the only skater to score more than 80 points. In second place was Australia's Valentino Guselli, who scored just 0.25 more points in the first round than Hirano.
