My family blindly followed the trend of the "net red" kitchen, simply unbearable, properly overturned the scene

"Net red" decoration can always bring us some new design ideas, but it is also possible to bring some misleading to users. The renovated kitchen of my family some time ago was destroyed in the hands of "Internet celebrities".

When I renovated, I borrowed from 5 "net red" kitchen designs - each of them has not escaped the fate of overturning.

I. Small white bricks: Choosing bricks is the key

The design of the black and white tile wall makes the whole room look so simple, but it does not appear empty. So I fell in love, but it worked...

Net red small white bricks, tiles are the key. Look at the rollover scene on the right side of the picture above, and see what's wrong? That's right, the black stripes are unevenly thin.

When buying tiles, you can find three types of small white bricks: one with black stripes on the edges, one without black stripes, and one with only half a black stripe (the width of the edge black stripes is half the width of the middle black stripe).

It is recommended to choose one without black stripes: there is no way to stick with black stripes, and the two tiles are put together, which is equivalent to merging the black stripes on the two edges into one. Such black stripes are originally wider than the middle stripes, and the black lattice made must be wide and narrow.

The one with half a black stripe is also not easy to operate, the two bricks are put together, and the width of the black stripe on the edge is the same as the stripe in the middle. However, the tile must be left with seams, plus the tile seams, the width will still be slightly more.

II. High and low countertops: small kitchen taboo

In the "net red" decoration case, there is a very bright point: the countertops of the cabinets are made into high and low, the gas stove is low, and the other positions are high. In this way, when using a gas stove, the hand can hang down, which is more labor-saving.

I did so and found that it was indeed a lack of effort. But the problems caused by this are irreparable.

My kitchen is not big, and the countertops are made into high and low, which obviously feels insufficient. Originally, items could be stacked together using countertops, but now they had to be as concentrated as possible, and the entire vicinity of the countertops was wasted.

From this point of view, if your kitchen is big enough, you can naturally make this comfort choice. But if it's just a small kitchen like my home, it's a little bit of a sacrifice of comfort in exchange for more storage space.

III. Gypsum board ceiling: Never do it

I really can't think of anyone who would be suitable for a kitchen with a gypsum board ceiling – or only for someone who never cooks!

Technically, it is possible to achieve kitchen hanging gypsum board: choose waterproof gypsum board, with waterproof putty on the line. Once made, the kitchen ceiling will look the same as in other rooms.

But don't overlook the problem of oil smoke in the kitchen, which will float upwards and stick to the ceiling after it is generated from the pot. PVC ceiling, aluminum gusset ceiling, the surface is smooth.

Oil fumes are not easy to stick to, even if they are stuck, they can be wiped off. But the gypsumboard ceiling is not good, the surface is rough, it is easy to stick to oil, and it is very difficult to clean. It didn't take long for my home to change from white to yellowish.

IV. Open kitchen: Has been explicitly prohibited

I've experienced all the things I said earlier. Open kitchen, I didn't even have the opportunity to experience it.

The open kitchen that my family originally made: just did not install the door, and did not smash the wall. After the renovation, the gas company needed to come to the door for acceptance, which gave me a conclusion of "unqualified" and "required rectification".

After inquiry, it was learned that the open kitchen did not meet the gas opening standards. In previous years, the standard was relatively vague, and the gas company turned a blind eye. In the past two years, it has become more and more stringent, and it has been made clear in the acceptance criteria: open kitchens are not subject to natural gas.

It is said that the open kitchen also has problems such as poor appearance and large oil smoke, but I have not really experienced it, so I will not say more.

All in all: away from the open kitchen!

V. Brick cabinets: it does not save money and is not easy to use

I don't know who said it, to replace custom cabinets with brick cabinets. Is it really good to use brick cabinets? I really don't think so.

First of all, in terms of price, brick cabinets do not save money than custom cabinets. The so-called "cheap" is that the structure of the brick cabinet is simple, and there is no fancy function such as pulling baskets and drawers.

But if custom cabinets don't do these things, the price is not higher than brick cabinets.

Secondly, in the use of brick cabinets, there are two major drawbacks:

The first is the small space, as the brick edges are much thicker than the wooden custom cabinets, compressing the interior space.

The second is moisture-proof, the bricks are easier to absorb moisture, but also close to the ground (custom cabinets will not be close to the ground). The cabinets are stored with food that is afraid of moisture, and in brick cabinets, it is easy to mold and grow worms.
