The Great Wall Network on May 25 (reporter Yan Chengqun correspondent Liu Siwen Gai Yingcai) Recently, the Chengde County Associated Societies Xinglongshan Credit Union handled a special certificate of deposit business, and a regular certificate of deposit from 24 years ago was successfully redeemed.

Uncle Wu, 80, came to the counter with a yellowed old deposit slip to request a withdrawal. This is a document printed with the words "Xinglongshan Credit Union, Chengde County, Hebei Province", opened on January 25, 1994, the amount is 1900 yuan, the deposit period is 2 years, written by hand ballpoint pen, the account name is "Wu XX".

This certificate of deposit, which has been "sleeping" for 24 years, although the paper is somewhat yellowed, is relatively well preserved, and the name seal of the staff handling the business at that time and the special seal for the business of the company are clearly visible. According to Uncle Wu's description, this deposit slip was found at the bottom of an old cabinet when Uncle Wu's son was covering the new house to clean up items. Uncle Wu had long forgotten the existence of the certificate of deposit, so he took it to the credit union to withdraw it with the psychology of trying it out.

After careful screening and access to the relevant files and systems, the staff confirmed that this certificate of deposit did exist and was not reported as lost and withdrawn. After checking the old accounts, retrieving system data and verification by relevant departments, the staff successfully paid the principal and interest of 2511.96 yuan for Uncle Wu, and did the settlement of the account cancellation.

"To be honest, I'm really afraid that after so many years, I won't be able to withdraw my money!" Uncle Wu said excitedly. "The credit union is our people's own bank, and your money is stored in us and will never be lost!" The director of the agency said.
