On the morning of the 13th, the public in China can appreciate the brightest "daystar" of the year

Tianjin, February 10 (Xinhua) -- Following the brightest venus that appeared in the "Chang Gung" posture on December 4, 2021, Venus, which appeared in the "Qiming" posture on February 13, 2022, will once again usher in the brightest of the year, when if the weather is sunny, interested members of the public can get up early to watch the southeast sky to see how it opens the dawn.

Venus is the close neighbor of the Earth, which was called "too white" in ancient times, that is, too white star. When it appears in the morning, people call it "Enlightenment" or "Morning Star"; when it appears at dusk, people call it "Chang Gung" or "Evening Star". Typically, Venus is the brightest object of the day except the Sun and Moon, with a maximum brightness of -4.9 magnitudes.

Xiu Lipeng, director of the Tianjin Astronomical Society and an expert in astronomical science, said that Venus meets the earth once every 584 days, during which Venus will be the brightest twice, and the interval between the two brightest is very short, once after the east distance of Venus, and once before the west distance of Venus.

On October 30, 2021, Venus ushered in the Eastern Distance. Since then, Venus has become brighter and brighter, and on December 4, Venus, which appears in the form of "Chang Gung", will usher in the brightest of the year, with a brightness of -4.9; on March 20, 2022, Venus will usher in the western distance. In the 36 days before that, that is, on February 13, Venus, which appeared in the form of "Enlightenment", will once again usher in the brightest of the year, with a brightness of -4.9.

Xiu Lipeng said that the brightest of Venus must occur when Venus appears in a "moth eyebrow moon" state before and after the next conjunction, not when it appears in a "full moon" state before and after the supercollection. "This is when it appears from the Earth that Venus and the Sun are in the same direction in the sky. At the time of the conjunction, the Earth and Venus are separated on either side of the Sun, when the two are the farthest apart; when the Earth and Venus are on the same side, the two are closest. Xiu Lipeng explained.

Venus traveled to the west side of the Sun in January 2022, becoming a morning star and rising above the surface earlier than the Sun. "At dawn on the 13th, if the weather is good, interested members of the public will look at the southeast sky and see with the naked eye that Venus, which is as bright as a diamond, is set above the canopy, dazzling. Of course, the appreciation of Venus is not limited to the 13th day, and its 'shining figure' can be seen in the pre-dawn morning light for some time before and after this. Xiu Lipeng said.
