At the meeting, Fu Wei, supervisor of the Grass-roots Health Department of the National Health Commission, said that by the end of 2020, there are 970,000 grass-roots medical and health institutions nationwide, including 9,800 community health service centers, 25,500 community health service stations, 35,800 township health centers, and 608,000 village clinics, basically achieving comprehensive coverage of urban and rural grass-roots communities.

By the end of 2020, there were more than 4.3 million grassroots health personnel nationwide, of which 1.53 million were practicing or practicing assistant physicians, and more than 1 million rural doctors were included in the 4.3 million grassroots. These grassroots personnel have greatly improved their academic qualifications, professional titles, and professional structures.

At the same time, the family doctor contract service is steadily advancing, the coverage of the national basic public health service project is further improving, with the elderly, children, pregnant women, and patients with chronic diseases as the key groups, constantly exploring family bed services, door-to-door inspection services and chronic disease long prescription services, and the public's sense of gain continues to improve.

In 2020, the number of medical and health visits in primary medical and health institutions nationwide exceeded 4.1 billion, and in addition to outpatient medical services, the grass-roots level also managed more than 100 million people with hypertension, more than 35 million people with type 2 diabetes, and more than 100 million elderly people in health management. The vaccination rate in rural streets has been maintained at more than 95%, especially since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the majority of grass-roots health institutions have undertaken a large number of community epidemic prevention and control, isolation site management, nucleic acid sampling, vaccination and other work, withstood the test and test, and made positive contributions.

Fu Wei said that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the National Health Commission will increase its efforts to promote the high-quality development of the medical and health service system in urban and rural communities.
