Huang Keying, deputy secretary of the Beijing Yanqing District Party Committee, mentioned at the 2022 Beijing Press Center press conference held on the 9th that the district has set up a 49-person Winter Olympic Meteorological Service Guarantee Sub-Center to carry out a full range of meteorological service guarantees.

Yanqing District has built a "three-dimensional, second-level, multi-element" Winter Olympic meteorological monitoring network, which provides real-time weather monitoring data covering the competition area and surrounding areas through automatic weather stations, weather radar, microwave radiometers and other detection equipment, providing a monitoring data basis for Winter Olympic events and urban operations.
"We have also established a 'minute-level, 100-meter- level' Winter Olympics forecasting service system, which has realized a 100-meter resolution ten-minute follow-up cycle in Yanqing, which can simulate nearly 100 three-dimensional meteorological high-definition simulation data sets in Yanqing under weather conditions, and achieve zero to ten days seamless real-time forecast and early warning." Huang Keying said that in order to achieve accurate forecasting, Yanqing District has established a number of meteorological observation points in the core area, of which the highest observation point has reached an altitude of 2198 meters.
Meteorological services need to be effective in practice. On February 6, the alpine skiing men's downhill competition, which was scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m., was postponed to 12:00 p.m. on February 7 due to weather conditions. Huang Keying introduced that during this period, the forecast team studied the changes in wind speed hour by hour and reported the weather conditions in a timely manner. On the 7th, the Yanqing meteorological team strengthened the meteorological linkage meeting, closely monitored the weather trends, continued to provide accurate meteorological services, and good meteorological conditions ensured that the alpine skiing men's downhill competition was held at 12 o'clock as scheduled, and the day's competition was successfully completed.
