The old house that raised "four thousand gold"

author:Ping encounter

My old house is in a remote small village, located on the yangma river, the small village is surrounded by green fields, and a field in the east of the village is next to the yangma river, and both sides of the river are large fertile river beaches, and corn, vegetables, sugar cane, peanuts and other crops can be grown in season. The old house is the place where I was born and raised, where I spent the most innocent and innocent childhood and adolescence, the cradle of the childhood life of our four sisters and brothers, and the place where I received the highest honor.

I remember when I was in the fifth grade of primary school, I was rated as a county-level three-good student by the school, and my class teacher organized the classmates and beat the gong and drum to send me the award certificates of the three good students to my home, which really caused a great sensation in our small village at that time, and became an envied example for my peers. The old house has four rooms, one for grandparents, one for parents, one for a hall house and one stove room. There were two beds in my parents' room, one for our three sisters, one for my brother, and one for my grandparents.

The most memorable thing is the two rows of bamboo cages in front of my house, growing lush, a road in the middle leads to the outside, and in the summer, the emerald green leaves of the two bamboo cages meet in the air, entangled with each other, intimate, like a row of large umbrellas, blocking out all the sunlight. So, in the summer, it's a great place for adults to cool off and chat, and it's also a paradise for kids to do homework, hide and seek, listen to cicadas, stick to dragonflies, lose money, and turn over cartons.

During the summer holidays, which is also the corn harvest season in the river beach, the neighbors like to move the sun-dried corn here to pick it up. Adults and children sat in pairs next to a circular picker, and after the adults poked the corn cob down a row with a cross knife, the child began to rub it with his hand along the row, chatting while stacking, laughing like an ocean wave, a wave overshadowed a wave, and now in retrospect, the happiness at that time was so simple. Chatting about the corn in the sky, the corn kernels jumped with the fingers into the pick, time passed quickly between the fingers, and after a while, looking at the corn kernels in the picks to nearly half, the adults took them to the sunbag to spread out the sun, and then changed back to the half pick corn cob, and then pulled... Children generally cry out for a while that their hands hurt, excuse themselves to run out to play for a while, and because it's too hot outside, or a yelling from their parents, they have to obediently come back and continue to squeeze. Generally at night, when sleeping, the hands are eaten red by the corn, and the children who do not use the right force will also make small bubbles, and they will be faintly painful when sleeping.

There was a small stream behind my old house, and the water at that time was crystal clear, and the small fish and shrimp could be seen clearly. The creek was about a meter wide, and I remember my cousin in town would come to my house every summer vacation, and once we had a race to jump the creek to see who could jump over it. My brother and cousin jumped over at once, the second sister hesitated and jumped over, and then my little yellow dog watched them jump over one by one, and also jumped up and "whizzed" over. I was probably seven or eight years old at the time, looking at the rushing stream (although the creek is not very wide, but the summer water is very large and the current is also very fast), I tried for half a day and did not dare to jump, and my little face was red. When my cousin saw that I didn't dare to jump, he teased me and said: You are a coward, even the dog can't be deserved, you see the dog jumped over. When my mother heard it not far away, she laughed at my cousin and said he was a little fool. I felt inexplicable at first, but it took a while to react, and my cousin jumped over, didn't he scold himself for being a dog?

Later, we laughed at this joke for a long time, and every time he teased me, I laughed that he was a dog, and from then on, my cousin was careful when he spoke, and never dared to laugh at me again.

My cousin also made me particularly angry, because he grew up in a big city in Chengdu, he was not used to our coarse grains, he did not eat, his parents gave him special treatment and cooked another fragrant white rice, and the aroma of rice in that era can still be recalled in memory. And we can't talk about special, we have to eat if we don't like it, and there is no choice.

When the big collective because there are many children in my family, we have five sisters and brothers, only my parents and grandfather earn work points, my grandmother takes children at home and does housework, so the adults do less work, and the grain of each family is distributed according to the work points, so every year my family's grain is not enough to eat, at least half a year's rations have to rely on the coarse grain borrowed by the east and west families, in that era, everyone was not rich, and it was good to have coarse grain to lend to you.

Therefore, we have at least half a year to eat corn steamed buns, sorghum steamed buns, wheat steamed buns, or sweet potatoes and potatoes. Sorghum bun is the most difficult to eat, the color is not good, every time my cousin sees us eat sorghum buns, they make fun of us like "eating s", and also make vomiting, and he is allowed to enjoy rice or drink porridge with my grandmother, which is the privilege of my family, and our brothers and sisters are both envious and hateful.

On the right side of the old house is a small forest, and there are several graves in the woods, which are said to be dedicated to the burial of the dead relatives of the Deng family, so it is called "Deng Family Cemetery". When I was a child, I often heard others say that the cemetery was haunted, and I didn't know what a "ghost" was, in short, I was afraid, and when I heard that there was a ghost, I was scared to hide everywhere. So when our sisters arrived at night, as long as Mom and Dad didn't come back from working in the fields, none of us dared to go to the bedroom to sleep, and no matter how sleepy we were, everyone would squeeze on the fire bench in the stove room and doze off. At that time, there was always unfinished work, and in my memory, my parents always came home very late, and I didn't know how my parents could still see the farm work when they were blinded by the black lights, and now I know that it was forced by the hardships of life.

Since the division of the land to the household, my family's life has slowly improved, my brother and sister can help do some farm work, my father is very flexible, and he also does some small business in his free time. After some savings, my father demolished the old house and rebuilt it, added two rooms, unfortunately dug up the two rows of bamboo cages in front of the house, and surrounded a large sky dam with a fence in front, because the production team's sunbag was not enough, and when the harvest was two seasons, the wheat and millet could not be dried. Fortunately, next to the fence gate, there is a small square garden of about nine square meters, and the aunt in the city brought us flower seeds to sprinkle down, and in the spring, all kinds of flowers are colorful, and the flowers are beautiful. I remember henna, trumpet flowers, morning glory, cockscomb flowers, etc. Our four sisters also dyed their nails with henna, but when we washed them at night, the color dropped.

My family was the first to have electric fans, bicycles, and televisions in the whole production team, and I remember that at that time, the TV was playing [Huo Yuanjia] and Japan's [Blood Doubt], every night at about seven o'clock, my family's tianba was crowded with people watching TV, we moved all the stools and chairs in the house out, sometimes we could only stand and watch, because my parents were very hospitable, and they were kind in their hearts, preferring to stand by themselves rather than treat their neighbors badly.

Later, after my eldest sister got married, my brother also began to have a girlfriend, when I was in high school, my father changed a piece of land for others next to the road in my village, built a new house, our family left the old house, moved into a new house, the old house was abandoned there, sold to someone else a few years later, and finally the family also moved out and demolished the old house.

Now there is no trace of the old house, but what I always dream of is the old house, and many interesting things that happened in the old house, the old house has become the deepest memory in my memory. The four sisters of ours wore from the eldest sister to the little sister in turn to the corduroy pants that could not see the original color; my brother took me and my sister in the bamboo forest to the sticky dragonfly, the figure of fish and shrimp caught in the Sheep and Horse River; the lush bamboo cage, the persimmon tree, and a few grapefruit trees, the batch tree, every time the fruit was ripe, we would pick it and give it to the neighbors to share; and the little yellow dog, wherever I went, it followed, even the Relatives of the Spring Festival, it followed all the way, and it could run back by itself; and the childhood friends, Cut pig grass together, go to and from school together, kick shuttlecocks together, jump rope together, and play hide-and-seek around old houses together.

The inexhaustible old house love, the endless old house story, every time I think of it, it will make me smile in my heart, and a warm feeling will arise in my heart. My childhood and adolescence were spent in the old house, although there was the hardship of life, but more joy and happiness, as well as grandparents, parents and parents led by example, taught us the hard-working, simple, kind qualities, these qualities let us no matter when and where, no matter what encountered, can maintain a normal heart, to face the challenges of life.
