ASUS today released a special expansion card "IPMI Expansion Card" for remote management, which can make ordinary PCs and workstations instantly have the ability of servers and high-performance computing devices in data centers, such as remote BMC firmware updates, browser-based control panels, etc.
IPMI, also known as the intelligent platform management interface, was originally built by Intel, has become a free open specification, has become a de facto standard for remote management, and can intelligently monitor, control, and report the operating status of devices across different operating systems, firmware, and hardware platforms.
Asus's expansion card adopts a half-height full-length design, integrates an ASPEED AST2600A3-GP multi-function control chip, and has a 10 Gigabit Ethernet port for remote management and a VGA interface for basic display.
The system interface PCIe 3.0 x1, and BMC, PM bus, SPI pins, etc., PCIe 6 pin auxiliary power supply, there are eight 4-pin PWM fan headers.
Prices have not yet been announced.
