A question for everyone, has your car ever changed tires? If so, do you remember where the tire was bought? Is it possible that you are actually buying a refurbished second-hand tire with serious safety hazards?

Many people know that the tires of large cars are retreaded by someone, but the cost of retreading of small car tires is high and low-profit, and there should be few reasons why few people do this kind of business. One of my fans thinks so, and he did buy a refurbished tire not long ago.
After further communication with this fan, I briefly sorted out the important information:
First, fans photographed two Michelin Haoyue tires on a well-known second-hand trading platform.
Second, the price of tires is very cheap, and the price is about half of the genuine product.
Third, the seller claims that this is 99 new dismantled tires, the source is the quasi-new tires replaced by modification enthusiasts.
Fourth, fans found that the two tire models were inconsistent after receiving the tires, and one of them became Michelin Renyue.
Fifth, fans asked to return the wrong tire for replacement, the seller first expressed impatience, and then said that there was no need to return, he re-issued a correct one for free.
Sixth, after the inspection of the master of the local installation shop, it was found that the crown of the wrong tire had a long nail inserted obliquely, and the correct tire wall had traces of fire repair, and the date word had traces of renovation.
Seven, the origin of the tire is Nantong, Jiangsu, and there are many sellers on the whole platform who are using the same set of product photos, and their shipping addresses are all over the country, but most of them are shipped directly from Dongguan, Guangdong.
I would like to post my personal interpretation of the above information.
First of all, there are many cheap and abnormal tires on the second-hand trading platform, and the seller's reason is often that these tires are replaced by modification enthusiasts after buying a new car, and it is useless to keep them, so the three texts are not worth selling, although it is a second-hand tire, but the color is very new. This reason sounds reasonable at first glance, but it is full of loopholes when carefully examined. First of all, the group of modification enthusiasts is very small, and often the active elements of the various car circle, they replace the quasi-new tire is most likely to be booked by the riders around them at the first time, and it is not at all the wheel to hang up to the second-hand trading platform to sell, even if the sale is also in a personal identity, and must be a specific model, the number is only 4 at most, and the price is up to 20% off than the original factory. Like this seller, who specializes in the tire business and is so cheap that it is cut in half, the tires he sells are by no means quasi-new tires received from modification enthusiasts.
Secondly, why the tire models sent over are different, there are many possibilities, either the shipment inventory process is wrong, or the tires are out of stock, or simply the seller himself can not distinguish the model. In addition, the seller did not check the tire before shipping, otherwise the nails that would not be so obvious were not found. Either way, it reflects the seller's extreme unprofessionalism.
Third, when the buyer proposed to exchange the goods, the seller initially behaved disapprovingly, and finally the attitude turned 180 degrees, indicating that the new goods could be reissued without requiring the return of the goods, which was obviously not in line with the logic of normal people. The only explanation is that the purchase cost of this tire is lower than the logistics cost of returning and exchanging the goods, so the seller prefers not to use this tire.
Refurbished tires more or less have safety hazards, especially like this refurbished tire that I bought as a fan, the side tire wall has been repaired by the large wall, although on the surface it looks almost repaired, but the curtain layer used to support the pressure must be broken, the curtain layer belongs to the one-time molding process, once broken, it cannot be repaired, so the repair treatment is not curative, once the impact is very likely to cause a flat tire, if it is driven on the high speed, the consequences are unimaginable, fortunately, the installation shop found it in time to avoid the risk for the owner.
But one thing that makes me wonder, is this seller selling all the tires that have been heavily refurbished? Could it be that my owner, the owner, was unlucky enough to encounter such a heart-wrenching refurbished tire? To verify, I bought another tire from this seller.
After inspection, this tire is also a retreaded tire. The tread of the tire part is rougher than other areas, and there are many small bubble-like things on the surface, and the edges are still left. The English letters on the abrasive can be faintly seen on the tread, and a rib line can be found on the back that is also misaligned.
At this point, there may be a small partner who wants me to expose the seller in the incident, but I don't want to do it. One is to protect the fans, fearing that the seller will retaliate against my fans. Second, in fact, it does not make much sense to expose a particular seller, because there are countless sellers selling retread tires, and what I want to do should be to figure out the ins and outs of the entire tire retreading industry, rather than targeting a certain seller. In order to further understand the tire retreading industry, I specially consulted the relevant information, and also visited a buddy who has been engaged in the auto parts industry for decades, and sorted out more information that may be useful to everyone.
How many do you know about tweaking?
First of all, we must understand a message, that is, tire retreading is actually legal, and even encouraged. According to the mainland's Circular Economy Promotion Law, the Catalogue of Comprehensive Utilization of Resources and the Conditions for Access to the Tire Retreading Industry, automobile tires can be used after retreading. But there is a big premise here, that is, it must be strictly in accordance with the standard retreading, and the retreaded tires must be marked with the words "RETREAD" or "retreading", and the number of retreadings, retreading batch numbers, etc. Regular retreaded tires are not at all simpler than the manufacture of new tires, the process is very rigorous, a large number of professional equipment is needed, the cost of investment is very high, it is by no means a general small workshop can be completed, so generally only the expensive large car tires will use retreading cycles, and at the time of sale, it must also be explained that it is a retreaded tire, and it is impossible to sell in the name of new tires or quasi-new tires.
Secondly, the tire retreading for family cars is mainly concentrated in Guangdong, they will recycle those tires that are still good at a price of several to dozens of pieces, and then use simple brackets and rubber particles to make up for the tires, and then wholesale to the hands of second-hand sellers or tire shops across the country at a price of more than 100 yuan, and then sell to the owners at about twice the price. Michelin tires like me and my fan spent $260 to buy fit the price very well.
Third, the retreading plant also has the so-called "conscience" and "black heart" points, the so-called conscience is to only harvest good color tires, that is, damage is limited to the tread, or expired tires, retreading is also limited to the repair of the tread or the falsification of the production date, but for the tires with damaged tire walls, they are resolutely not retreaded. And the black heart is even repaired if the fetal wall is damaged. And the black heart factory also has the "black heart" and "special black heart" points, black heart is to repair the tire wall will be together with the curtain layer or steel wire also do secondary filling, and special black heart refers to only repair the outer surface. Of course, whether it is a so-called conscience or a black heart, as long as it does not meet the standards of renovation, it should be resisted.
Fourth, many used cars use refurbished tires, which is also the easiest place for buyers to ignore.
How should we, as ordinary consumers, distinguish between a refurbished tire?
First, some retreaded tires will have a layer of wax on the surface, and there will be obvious fingerprints on the touch of the hand.
Second, the date of birth of some refurbished tires is retyped, and if you look closely at the font, there will be a difference, and the cross-section of the raised part is trapezoidal instead of at right angles.
Third, some refurbished tires have rough tread and wall junctions.
Fourth, the wall of some refurbished tires will be similar to a patch, the surface is uneven, there will be small bubbles nearby, and there will be breaks or misalignment of the rib lines from the inside.
Sixth, the tread pattern of some retreaded tires has traces of artificial carving.
The above are all renovations that can be easily found, and in fact, the market is also full of a large number of refurbishment processes more concealed refurbished tires, which are difficult to identify, and as ordinary consumers, there is really nothing they can do. In fact, if you want to not step on the thunder, the simplest way is not to try to be cheap, go to the regular channels to buy tires, such as 4S stores, tire stores with brand authorization certification, tire brands' official stores or regular car platforms, etc. Although these channels can not be said to be 100% insured, they are much more reliable than buying second-hand tires from unknown sources.
Finally, we still have to condemn those unscrupulous businessmen, tires are the most important accessories on the car, there is no one, it is not only related to the performance of a car, but also determines the safety of a car, making shoddy retread tires and selling it to the owner of the car, this is not only fraud so simple, but also for money! I also hope that our car owners should keep their eyes open when raising cars and not be deceived.
